Trump supporters, how do you square this?

They didn't need guns to get into the building and trespass. They needed guns to overthrow the government tho.

Also they outnumbered the police because Trumps request for more troops was denied. Why it was denied can be debated (not sure how), but they were denied.
Both sides were stupid whether it was on purpose or not. The truth will come out. So far with the left leaning media and Jan. 6th committed it has been very biased.

After the summer of 2020 with police stations being overtaken and/or burned down, plenty of cops whacked with sticks, hit with bricks, frozen water bottles, laser shot into there eyes etc. why leave the capital unprotected? And with that lamest of answer that the optics were bad as if looking well protected is bad. Potential Increases of danger and chance of a robbery is a bank not gonna have enough security cause of the optics? Trump, after the riots previously, has to know that marching to the capital would have resulted in the same thing again. Even if he thinks his followers are good people. There are bad people on both sides. There are people that just want to go wild even if they not on any side they just feel emboldened in a big crowd to "purge" as it were. Plenty of paid agitators during the riots.

People inciting the day before saying we need to go "in" the Capital. A group breaking through the outer barriers before Trump was done speaking and told anyone to go to the capital. Just like Covid where we know things much differently now than earlier the more accurate more complete story will come out.

Have to stop being so one sided. They didn't even pursue Hillary or Biden. Either of them didn't even have the level of president as far as powers or protections regarding classified documents. The anybody else argument doesn't work.

Same with Jan. 6th. Summer of 2020 when cops get beaten attacked defending federal courthouses, police stations and peoples businesses. Some killed and many injuries. Then the blue is not defended or worried about much but when Trump is involved so much interest and empathy towards capital police officers.

Can't turn it on and off here. It is not rooting for sports teams so when it is my team I root for and if not I root against. It is the health and lives of those in blue. Can't just care about it when it is your side or your agenda. Even in politics and gov't previously was defund, don't support but then they did a nice flip. During Covid a nice flip. Oh how we love the first responders then later you are out if you don't take the shot after all they did before.

I already answered your question in the post you quoted. There is a difference between saying where you get your news and saying you refuse any news that doesn't come from there. Again, you know and understand that difference (maybe I am giving you too much credit here) so your post was douchey, like I said.

If you mentioned that in your free time you watch basketball, then I told someone else that you repeatedly say you refuse to even glance at the TV if any other sport was on, what would you think? I'm guessing you would think I was being a complete douche. And you would be right. So please, stop being a douche.
So instead of deflecting back at me, answer the question.

Do you read any news from anywhere other than twitter? Because like I said before, you've said on this board you don't read a single thing in the media that isn't suggested to you by twitter because you don't want to spend the energy looking for it elsewhere. Which means twitter's algorithm is directing and controlling what you see, whether it's left or right. You thinking it's an un-biased selection of articles from both sides is exactly what Elon wants you to think and you've taken that bait hook, line, and sinker. I mean I can go through the work of posting when you've said that if you really want, but I think most of us on this thread know it already.

Again, if that's not the case, were you lying then or are you lying now?

More deflection and avoiding the question in 3...2...1...

They installed her last minute because they knew the longer she campaigned the worse she would do. It's not like people who were around Biden figured out he was mentally gone during the debate. They knew the whole time because they spent time with him. They chose to stop hiding it and throw him to the wolves during the debate so they could install Harris in the 11th hour, limiting her exposure on the campaign trail. Whoever is controlling the democratic party right now cared more about installing someone they could control than they cared about putting someone in who could win.
I don't think there's a candidate they could have put out there, on such short notice, that would have won. I think she was there best chance at that point.

It's no secret that I think the government is corrupt. So keeping that in mind, this is how I see hos picks. A lot of who he picked is people who have been railroaded by their party, or haven't been around long enough to be corrupted. I get how someone can see those people as unqualified or bad picks because their own party doesn't like them. But as a guy who thinks the established government is corrupt, these people look like people who actually have a chance and the desire to clean things up. From my prospective, if the established government likes a pick, it's a red flag to me. How can you trust a friend of corrupt people to clean up the corruption? Now if you don't start out with my perspective on how corrupt it all is, then these picks seem bat shit crazy. If you're someone who trusts that the government has their best interest in heart, then of course you are going to be weary of anyone they tell you to be weary of.
Totally agree that the government (right and left) is corrupt. I also agree about not being able to trust a friend of corrupt people to clean things up, but here's where I disagree. The individual's Trump has chosen are not "red flags" due to their political beliefs or the fact their own party doesn't like them. That may be some of it, but the majority of it is they're simply laughable candidates that have absolutely zero business being in that position.

Matt Gaetz- his first choice for attorney general a potential pedophile.
Pete Hegseth- Defense secretary with limited management history who's never managed more then 100 people combined in the tow organizations he's previously run.
LInda McMahon- Department of Education nominee despite no back ground in education with the exception of a year she spent on a school board in which she lied about a degree in education.
RFK Jr. director of HHS... the list goes on and on.

I have absolutely no back ground in politics whatsoever, but his choices for cabinet reminds me of the class clown in high school picking the least athletic people in the class to be on his team, because he simply doesn't give two shits and thinks it'd be funny while basically giving everyone the finger because he's in charge. Sure it might be funny at first, but as it goes on and on people start thinking "is he serious" and "WTF is he doing". The problem is you can get away with that shit when it doesn't matter, but running the country isn't a game.

While many of us absolutely despise him, nobody wants to see him fail. Because if he fails we all do. And that's why the smug, quick to judge, know it all rhetoric and the way he conducts himself pisses a lot of us off. Not even two weeks in and it's already starting with him immediately politicizing a tragedy, while claiming DEI was behind the plane crash. The most powerful person in the country using a tragedy to push an agenda while people are still mourning the loss of family members. Sorry but there's a reason this country is divided, because there's people that support this behavior and others that are absolutely disgusted by it.

You're absolutely right about not being one sided, but at the same time you can't use it as a crutch either. The fact is it's used as an excuse. You just said that "they didn't even pursue Hillary or Biden". You're right, but that doesn't make it excusable for Trump, or Hillary or Biden before him. We should be pissed about preferential treatment and turning a blind eye, but we can't sit there and use it as an excuse or use it justify an action. If laws were broken, then there has to be consequences regardless of who broke it. Both sides are guilty and should be held accountable, but when we start saying it's ok for one reason or another then why have laws in the first place.

Caveat: We all want America to succeed, and be seen as a shining city on a hill.

Trump's comments about the plane/helicopter crash would be comical if they weren't so awful. Any leader with a shred of decency wouldn't say some of the things he's saying as POTUS.

The investigation needs to play out, and this is a sensitive time. People lost lives. This is a tragedy, and comments by the POTUS should be measured, thoughtful, and kind.

Here's Trump:
-indicates the crash is likely related to DEI hiring (seriously you jackass, wtf?)
-has additional "hot takes" about the military helicopter flying at the wrong altitude, prior to the conclusion of the investigation.

When pressed about his asinine DEI comments, he indicates it's because he has "common sense."

Does anyone else think this is, well, deplorable?

Updates from the misguided nomination of RFK junior:

The lead Republican on this committee has serious concerns about this nomination (as any rational human would have). Is this important nomination in trouble, or will republicans bend the knee, even though this is a stupid nomination?

This is the same guy that told the Proud Boys to Stand by and stand down. The same guy who said service men and women sacrificing their lives for our country are suckers and losers. The same guy who in Helsinki said that he believed Putin over our own US men and women in US intel. The same guy who berated war hero and war prisoner John McCain saying he liked people that didn't get captured better. Yes it's deplorable but you will never obtain human decency from this moron.

I think Gaetz is the only one who won't get approved. And that is because they all simply hated him in addition to being a pedophile. The alcoholic Fox host and the rest will all be approved. This party simply doesn't care anymore. Knees will continue to bend.

I think Fry has mentioned this a bit earlier, but for those of us who are interested in understanding which media outlets lean left or right, or are more center, this site is helpful. Interestingly it seems to be a pretty even spread. I'm going to try to view more news sources that are center, and slightly left or right leaning, and limit my view of very L or R leaning outlets. Here's a snippet:

Here's a video of a Biden nominee not being able to answer basic questions. I think this video is just as lame as all the videos going around about Trump nominees now. But it does go to show that these gotcha questions during these hearings are probably pretty standard.

A lot more info has already come out over the years. For some reason people are incapable of changing their minds once they reach their original conclusion.

Be careful. Calling out hypocrisy has a new fancy word called whataboutism now.

Yes, we should ensure that nominees are able to have a basic understanding of the service/bureau they will be leading.

I think these are fair questions and not necessarily "gotcha" because they assess the knowledge of the applicant/nominee.

Having said that, in my view, this isn't a "my team vs your team" deal. Biden isn't the president now, and wasn't even a candidate for president. Your point is valid but not relevant to now. I agree that that nominee should've been challenged as well. Not everything is a team sport, pal. We should be looking after the health our our great republic, and not just "owning the libs" as you love to attempt to do.

And, this is a great example of "whataboutism" even if you don't like it when people call you out on it. You attempt to search for equivalencies.

So, based on your own logic, do you think RFK should be able to answer basic questions about Medicaid and Medicare? I can answer them in my sleep.

Every thing in your post is fine except the word "single". You throw that out there to be extreme and it just makes you a douche. To answer your question, I said twitter is where I get my news, and that's true. I didn't say things like "I refuse to look at anything that doesn't come from twitter" or "I've never seen news before that didn't come from twitter". And once again, you already knew and understand that so I'm not even sure what you're trying to accomplish here.

So if it's necessary to elaborate for you further than "twitter is how I find news" then I will. Every once in awhile I'll have news on TV at my house but it's rare. (I don't mute the TV because because it's not twitter) I'm in customers houses for work all day every day and a decent amount of the time they will have the TV on CNN or Fox News or something and I hear people talking all day. (I don't try to tune it our because it's not twitter) I see people post stuff on here and click on links. (I don't search twitter first to make sure the article posted is also on there before I read it) I get notifications on my phone from news sites that I never asked for and don't really care to have. But they almost always have sensationalized headlines that bate me into clicking on them so I actually read a decent amount of news articles that way. (I have never once searched for an article on Twitter first to make sure it's on there before continuing to read it) If you think that makes me a liar when I said I get my news from Twitter, than cool I guess. You're definitely a weird dude.

I don't think there's a candidate they could have put out there, on such short notice, that would have won. I think she was there best chance at that point.
Kennedy would have won because democrats seem to mostly be blue no matter who and 25% or so of Republicans were dying to not have to vote for Trump. I think most candidates would have won. Which makes me even more suspicious that they tried to install her.

As far as I know there has not been another Administer assigned so far

The rest of the FHA employees are probably concerned by the possibility of losing their jobs

The DOGE leader told the former head of the FAA to resign and, on Trump's first day, he did just that.
