My take as someone from the outside who's not a very political person or a trump supporter by any means, and I make take heat for this, but here we go. I despise Trump as a person, and not a fan of most of his policies, but obviously after last night I'm in the minority, which as a democrat in Iowa I already knew. I don't buy into most of the political BS as deep down I'm one that firmly believes it's nothing more then a popularity contest between two elitist parties battling for control of the country using us as pawns. With MAGA coming up winners last night they get 4 years to do exactly what they said and I have major concerns about how they're going to attempt to make changes internally to push their agenda.
That said, I'm not going to claim things are rigged, or bad mouth anyone that had opposing views. I'm going to continue to go about my life and maintain myself like I did yesterday, before Trump was given another 4 years. While I hate the end result I'm going to remain optimistic that somehow the people of this country come closer together, which I don't believe would have happened with a Harris victory, and that we continue to move forward and in four years maybe I'll find someone that gives me hope in a system that needs to truly needs be fixed.
I'm sarcastically thrilled that my cat will not be eaten, crime will disappear with the borders being close, all wars ending immediately, tariffs not drive up the cost of living even further, and that voters and elected officials at the state level will have more control over what a women choses to do with her body then they do. To be honest although defeated I can sit back and watch MAGA celebrate, because deep down I'm not sure anything really changes over the next 4 years to the point where half of what has been promised comes true. But while I have very little faith that things will get better (don't see things that bad now tbh) I hope things do for the sake of those that put their faith into someone I cannot and will not ever support, but someone I will still respectfully address as the POTUS despite loathing as a person and an individual.
