Trouble in River City

The only reason they ever became anything at all was because they got LUCKY and fell into Bob Devaney, after their top choices all turned them down. They came pretty close to running Osborne out of town when he kept losing to Oklahoma. Do you think Minnesota deserves to be a top 15 program too, because by god, they've got 6 MNC's.

I was watching UCF and Memphis on ABC, and heard by THE announcers that the NE Frost deal was done. Just needs to be inked, I believe. Anyone else hear that?

I want to live in this fantasyland you live in.

That page is like comparing Iowa vs Iowa State.

Total offense
Iowa 106
Nebraska 86

Note, this was the worst ever year of Nebraska football in the postwar world.

Yep, 0 advantages. Fake news. Alternative facts. They can probably out recruit Iowa and Michigan on legacy recruits alone. That's what tradition does.

What shocks me more is this opinion that Nebraska fans are delusional for firing the worst coach in their program's history. Like it can get any worse, there. Be careful what you wish for, might win three games instead of four. That program should probably be a top 15 team nationally every year.

I hate to say this, but playing in the Big Ten West is easier than playing in the Big 8. The Big 8 had Colorado, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, when all three were winning titles. The West has Wisconsin, Nebraska and Iowa, and no-one is winning titles.

Finally, you have to compare where 90's Nebraska was in relation to where 90's Penn St., Ohio St., Michigan, Florida State, and Miami to now. They are legitimate claimants to top ten all-time programs. None of those team's will ever be as good as they were back then, because of scholarships. They can absolutely be as good as Michigan and OSU, again.

Nebraska has had its fill of crow lately. A really good coach can turn them around. They're a freaking landmine.
Get your facts straight. Nebraska has 13 seasons since 1945 with 4 wins or less. Nebraska was 1-9 in 1957 about the time Iowa was dominating under Evy. They were terrible for 20 years or so before Devaney got there.

Also Lol, comparing Nebraska recruiting to Michigan or any of those other teams you mention. Those teams are located in the middle of recruiting hotbeds and Nebraska is in Nebraska. Nebraska is no more a blue blood than Minnesota.

Also, in the past 15 years Iowa has finished in the top ten 5 times and Nebraska ZERO times. If Nebraska had such an advantage you would expect at least once.

Going forward I expect Nebraska will have an occasional good season or two just like Iowa.

It happened boys and girls remember this day. Confidence is back in the fan base it will be unbearable
It has been unbearable since they joined the Big Ten but taking them to the woodshed 4 of the last 5 years has helped. I noticed UCF gave up 750 yards today so Scott Frost should fit right in.

I would have guessed it just based on the fact there has been neither speculation that Nebraska is interviewing others, nor that Frost is a candidate anywhere else.

we all FREAKED OUT when Minny got Fleck. A year later, meh. Let's wait on Frost. About same age with not much 'history' of recruiting/winning at a P5 school...

I guess Moos lied. He said he wanted a coach with P5 head coaching experience. Scrawl on KETV says Frost will be the 3rd highest paid coach in the conference. 7 years @ 35 million.

I guess I'll tell my grandchildren to drop out of med school and go where the money is, coaching, Jimbo Fisher got $75 million for 10 years, guaranteed. And if not smart enough for that take an AD job, smarts not needed there.

I guess we get to find out now.

Fair enough. Now, if Frost is a good coach, he may win but it won't be because it's Nebraska. I would blame Chip Kelly more than anyone for teaching him. It still looks like he's clueless on the defense.

AW was a 2 star back, Iowa definitely got the most out of him and if you think otherwise then you're just mad about things you can't change.

And Dan Doering was 5* talent, right? Just bc some guy assigned a * level does not mean that's accurate. If you can't understand that we probably shouldn't discuss further.
