Trophy Ideas for Iowa v Nebraska

Like some have said, it probably would be corn related. The Iowa and Nebraska corn growers sponsoring the game would seem like a good fit.

"Hawkeyes and Huskers fight to be crowned King of Corn, battle for the Pioneer Corn Crown"

The Golden Tassel? The Golden Ears?

Whew...let's get creative and see what else we can come up with
 
The King of Corn Trophy sounds OK, but..

edit - Actually, I don't think I like "corn" in the name. Corn lends itself to the cornhuskers, so no chance.

How about The Maize Trophy...? awarded for the maize madness game, maize mayhem, etc

Hmmm...it all sounds corny to me

How about a single ear of corn, standing straight up. Call it the Cornelius trophy. I like the idea of the Corn bowl, but it sounds too much like Cornhole when spoken out loud.
 
I think the Border War trophy. Have the Husker dude on one side, Herky on the other, pointing fists at each other, and the 2 states in the middle. I wish I could photoshop what I have in my head.

How 'bout the "Combine Classic".

As it is, TV already includes the obligatory shot of one rolling through the field during virtually every single Iowa televised game.

Alludes to the NFL -- which this game will certainly include many future players.

Makes Red fan comfy, as this will most likely be the predominant vehicle on eastbound I-80 every other year.
 
I don't know about a trophy... but how about a convoy of combines the week of the game heading east/west on I-80... raise awareness for farmers.. build up to the game. Maybe they escort the trophy to either stadium depending on location.... maybe not?
 
Universities + Corn = Unicorn. The trophy should be a UniCORN in all of its glory. And instead of a horn coming out of the mystical creature's head, there would be an ear of corn. The trophy would be completely unique, plus it would involve corn. Oh, and it should sparkle.
 
If there was to be a "Corn Bowl," why didn't it happen between Iowa and Illinois? It is Iowa and Illinois who battle for the title of the top corn producing state (with Iowa winning, of course), with Nebraska significantly behind in 3rd place. I believe that the western part of Nebraska is a bit too arid for corn production and only the eastern half grows it like we do.

We were the "Corn Huskers" back when they had "Bugeaters" as their chosen moniker.

How about asking John Deere to underwrite the rivalry and maybe have the Golden Tractor or the Golden Plow trophy?
