Tristan Wirfs

Oh god, I saw the one name thread title and I immediately go to Wirfs and Alaric Jackson drunk on a moped...driving through a traffic accident scene or something. Thank god he's just lifting weights. That is pretty amazing...when he's cleaning over and over, he's got to drop and catch 450...think about that for a minute. My arms would come off at the shoulder.

That guy rocks, don't he? He totally could have moped through last season after losing his starting spot and transferred out at its conclusion. He is obviously as invested as he has always been. Damn, I hope that guy can have a kick ass senior year.

Gotta love the kid. Pure energy. When I saw the video, you could just see how pumped he was for Wirfs.

Look at Wirfs' lower body. There's no question where all that power comes from.

Wirfs and Jackson are not the norm at Iowa. We better enjoy their last season because I don't see any similar replacements waiting in the wings.

Kallenberger? He's supposed to be pretty good.

Elsbury is down the road, but he's got great potential as well.

We've still got a very solid OL track record. We're obviously still recovering from the misses and poor recruiting of the GD era, but Iowa OL tradition is as strong as ever.

James Daniels
Brandon Scherff
Riley Reiff
Bryan Bulaga

Thats just 1st and 2nd rounders in the last 8 years not all drafted ol. I wouldn't say we "never".

I wasn't referring to draftees---I was referring to the type of player--Athletic, Rangy, and Powerful all at the same time.

Josh Volk is already an 18 wheeler and in my opinion, god help opposing DTs after Doyle starts feeding and training him.

He’s the most “Scherff-ish” player I’ve seen. Volk’s farm strong already and judging by his interviews and what all his coaches and recruiters have said, he’s a hard working, grinder type of player.

I keep thinking of an OL with Kallenberger, Jeff Jenkins, Linderbaum, Volk, and maybe Elsbury or the giant Plumb. We could form a new Berlin wall with that kind of power.

Completely disagree with this. We have recruited very well on the OL. Kallenberger and Better than Erza have very high ceilings. Kallenberger played really well against Northern Illinois. He was impressive for a young undersized left tackle. He was much better in the run game than I thought he would be...he had a few combo blocks that were impressive for a young guy. He's going to start at left guard is my guess. He's not sitting. Ezra Miller turned heads at the West Coast Elite camps. He's big, rangy, and has an attitude. I think he wants to play this coming year. He's 6'5" and 305 as a high school senior...so he's probably going to get to camp at 310 or 315. He moves really well too at that size. We are getting the OL we want early in the recruiting process. That's a very good sign.

And where in this bunch do you see another Wirfs specimen?

Holy crap, how are you leaving out Miller? I think he is the jewel of the bunch.

You can see Plumb in the back of the Wirfs video--looks like he's already put on good weight. Plumb has the frame to be a monster...still a work in progress.

Puhlease. There are a bunch of clips like that on Insta and YouTube. How do we know there aren't some fake weights on there?
