Trey Creamer Transferring

I think he and Josh Turner both saw an uphill battle to playing time. They were passed by true freshmen Brents and Moss this season. Hankins still has two years left. DJ Johnson is trending up. Ojemudia is back next year, although I hope they move him to safety. Terry Roberts also did well during his redshirt year.

Brents is the real deal. He'll be in the NFL when it's his time too. Moss has some ways to go I'll just leave it at that. I would have thought Creamer could beat him out next yr. But I don't attend practices or anything to know kinda how they all stacked up too much either.

Let's face it. Moss gets extra heat because he's an underrecruited white Iowa kid.

He's definitely got athleticism and speed, and while he does have a ways to go, he's not even a year removed from high school. He can, and I predict will get better. He's not the second coming of Adam Shada.

There musta been reasons why Moss got in over the RS freshman and others. Coaches have been playing under classman over upper ones more and more due to who's better I think. They don't look at star rankings or any outside rankings. Once you show up for day 1 of practice it's who's better. The QB position is the main position where there's some 'entitlement' to it for the lack of a better word. Some coaches have way quicker hooks than others. KF doesn't seem to have one at the QB spot but he's got a quick one at MLB as Jones found out..

Yep its about knowing and executing the playbook. Say what you want about KF, and I've been as critical of him as anybody here, but he plays people who know and can follow the playbook. It doesn't matter if you're a FR or SR, walk-on or 3 star recruit. If you don't know the playbook and/or can't follow what it says on the field, you're not playing.

Even DJK, a guy Ferentz publicly admitted to not getting along well with even when DJK was still playing here, played a lot on O and ST.

Everyone needs to lay off Moss. He did an incredible job most of the time. Every offense that lined up against us had it as a number one priority to attack him. That happens with freshman corners. He competed like hell and that's all you can ask an 18-19 year old kid to do. In many games, he was competing with guys who have had 3 years or college to work on their technique and their bodies. Inexperience is something you have to fight through also...I'd be willing to bet he's a better player as he preps for the bowl game.

I think Rob may be onto something that safety could be in his future, but he will need to get bigger. He didn't strike me as a physical tackler type. I can only imagine him running down deep balls as a safety...that would be fun to watch...he's pretty good with ball skills.

Especially with Hooker testing the waters....

I have a bit of an issue with whoever projects potential draft positions telling fifty or more players that they are first round material when they are only 32 first round draft picks available. It's like basketball coaches offering schollies to more players than they have schollies. What if a bunch of them verbally commit at once. Oops, there's a can of worms to deal with.

With the NFL draft, I guess it's up to the player to know where his bread is buttered. But that's nowhere near as simple as it sounds. If a player hears that they're first round material, how many of them are going to refuse to believe it?

Moss got tested...a lot. I thought he did a solid job overall. Purdue, for example, he had decent coverage on the 2 long passes, they were simply perfect throws and great catches. He did get roasted on the goalline slant and clearly has things to work on.

I agree, he is Not Shada 2.0.
