Trey Burke, He Gone

Burke "might" be a lottery pick? Are you kidding? Trey Burke is Derrick Rose Chris Paul good. Whoever passes on him is a complete tool. I haven't seen a player in college this year that sniffs his talent.

Hes not anywhere near those two. There is no one like Chris Paul and Burk dosen't have the same level of athleticism that Derick Rose does. Still will be a good player.

I would probably take Olidipo over Burke. Hes the one who could end up being a Rose/Wade type.

They have a lot of talent but Burke got them to the championship game...see Kansas. He made McGary look like he's ready for the NBA...by giving him the ball in the right places and drawing the defense to himself. I don't think they make the Final 4 with no Burke. He was the national player of the year for a reason...because he's that good.

I am just saying don't sleep on his replacement and GR3 and McGary will be men all season. Derrick Walton is going to be a special player for them. Zak Irvin is going to give them a bunch of scoring from their bench. If nobody else leaves they are still going to be a good if not great team.

Don't forget me ... :)

That kid just makes me chuckle. What a dork!

Same here. I give them a great chance of returning to the Final 4 if Spike is a lottery pick in next year's NBA draft or national player of the year in college basketball...doesn't even have to do both.

I think Burke will be much closer to the Mike Conley level of pg, then the Rose, CP3 level.

I won't compare Burke to any other players because I think he has his own game...not quite like any other player in particular. I'm not saying better or worse...just different.

He showed me something I hadn't seen before when he blocked Siva's layup late in the championship game. I couldn't believe he caught him and I couldn't believe he got up there and pinned that thing on the glass. I don't think Trey Burke is at his ceiling at this point...will get better.

Jalen Rose (on his Grantland podcast last week) compared Burke to Travis Best. I thought that was interesting considering J.Rose knows him well. :)

That's a good comparison too. Burke is going to struggle to finish at the rim in the NBA due to his size and average (relative to the insane NBA athleticism) athleticism. Even in college he tended to settle for step back jumpers, especially in end of game situations, too often. I think he'll be a solid NBA player but would be surprised if he turns into an All-Star

People have tossed out comparisons to Allen Iverson, I do not quite see that, Iverson needed the ball in his hand an awful lot so much so you couldn't put another superstar around him, that's not Burke. If he is able to develop a mid-range game, get to the paint off the dribble you could get a Tony Parker like player. These days working on or having a mid-range game isn't sexy so who knows if he will develop one or not. If not he will probably max out as a 2nd tier pg.

I think Burke will be a superstar in the sense he will be the #1 option on a team. Something similar to a Kyrie Irving in the sense he will end up on a bad a team but be the best player.

This cat has been compared to every pg under the sun, i guess we will find out soon enough.

I don't think he's going to be anywhere near as good as Irving, Kyrie also has at least 3 inches on Trey.

Burke is better than Nelson. He will be very solid in a league full of great pgs.

As for Michigan, if no one else leaves, they could definitely be back in the FF next year.
They have the #24(Irvin,6'6'' wing) and #37(Walton,pg), and #105(Donnal,6'9'' pf-brother of Iowa o-lineman) coming in next year to go with a strong core of Hardaway,LaVert,GRIII,McGary,Morgan,Horford. That is a roster than can contend for a title.
