So we've managed to get even worse from our non conference start. OSU is more talented than us and are better than us. Still Matta does less with more year in and year out
So to confirm, you are that slow? You are choosing a point in time after we just dropped 15 spots on the KenPom rankings. Funny how that works.
And our rankings compared to other teams doesn't mean we have not improved. Here I'll spell it out for you because you are a step behind:
Week 5- Team A (KenPom 100), Team B (KenPom 105), Team C (KenPom 115)
Week 8- Team A (KenPom 80), Team B (KenPom 75), Team C (KenPom 78)
Did team A get better or worse in the above?
So other teams are just improving more than us?
Some are, some aren't. It's just funny that this argument comes up after Iowa falls 15 spots in the KenPom. It's typical trolling from you.
I like the KenPom, it's a decent system, especially if you are into sports betting. You can't take this stuff as gospel though. As I said earlier, around this time last year Iowa was #1 in the KenPom and we all know how that turned out.
So if you don't want to use KenPom as a ranking system which would you prefer to use? RPI? Sagarin?
I don't concern myself too much with the rankings. I started this thread just to see how they moved throughout the year. I think the goal right now should be to finish in the top half of the B1G.
Well right now we're the second worst team in the B1G. Conference standings don't mean much, it wasn't long ago we finished ahead of teams that made the tourney while we went to the NIT
Well that team couldn't get over the hump against a ranked opponent and had a very poor non-conference schedule. This years team has already beat 2 ranked teams.
Do you really believe Iowa is the second worst team in the B1G?
I'd rank the B1G this way:
1. Wisconsin
2. Purdue
3. Indiana
4. Maryland
5. Michigan State
6. Northwestern
7. Michigan
8. Minnesota
9. Ohio State
10. Illniois
11. Nebraska
12. Penn State
13. Iowa
14. Rutgers
Michigan 2-3 headed for 2-4 after tonight. 2 wins are home games against Nebraska and Penn State by a combined 9 points checks in at number 7 on Troll5656's power rankings.
Don't think Illinois can be ranked ahead of Iowa. They're also closing in on a 2-4 start. Home wins against Mich & OSU.
Again ranking teams like this is so fluid and can change each week. My personal opinion is this:
In a hypothetical 10 game series.
Iowa would beat the following teams on neutral court more times than not:
Rutgers, PSU, Nebraska, Illinois
Iowa would most likely (+/- 1) split with these teams on a neutral floor:
Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio State, NW (tough to say after Sunday I will admit)
Michigan is in Lunardi's latest bracket and Illinois is ranked higher than us in every metric. Let's see your rankings
In regards to Michigan & Illinois I was talking about conference performance. Here try this from my previous post:

I think Illinois and Nebraska would beat us on an neutral court more times than not, we'd probably split with PSU and win more against Rutgers. I don't know how you could rank us ahead of Illinois though, that's crazy talk
Who has Illinois beaten almighty one?

No the drivel you come up with is crazy talk.
VCU on a neutral court, NC State, Michigan and Ohio State at home. The have the 17th toughest SOS in the country and are 12-6, our schedule is 66th and we're 11-8
How about you rank the Big Ten then if I'm so stupid. At least I put my thoughts out there
I'll take our wins over Purdue, Iowa State, and Michigan over that any day.
