Tracking 2014 Class Offers

What they really need is an early signing period for football, like they have in other sports. I can't believe that the overwhelming majority of football coaches wouldn't be in favor or something like that. I know that KF has mentioned it on several occasions.

Agreed. August 1-15 would be great. Get it out of the way before the season starts so the top players don't have to worry about it and can enjoy their senior seasons, and so the coaches can spend their recruiting time on players whose senior film is the key to their recruitment.

Sorry it has taken me so long, but I have finally updated the list in the OP. Though some of these have been talked about already in this thread and elsewhere, here are the updates I've made:

OL Lucas LeGrand, Dubuque Senior--Committed to Iowa
RB Markel Smith, StL--Decommitted from Mizzou
DE Silvester Hayes, Dallas Area--Iowa offer
S Jyaz Jones, Dallas Area--Iowa offer (Brother of Iowa signee Anjeus Jones)
TE Matt Nelson, CR Xavier--Iowa offer
WR Maurice Ways, Detroit--Iowa offer
S Miles Taylor, Washington, DC--Iowa offer (GT Commit)
RB CJ Hilliard, Cincinnati--Iowa offer
TE Ryan Izzo, New Jersey--Iowa offer
QB Clayton Thorson, Chicagoland--Northwestern Commitment
RB Traevohn Wrench, KC Area--Kansas Commitment
DE Dylan Thompson, Chicagoland--Iowa offer (Ohio State commit)
S Edward Paris, Dallas area--LSU Commitment
QB Rafe Peavy, southeastern Missouri--Iowa offer (Arkansas Commit)
WR/DB Raymond Wingo, StL--Iowa offer
DE Elijah Lee, KC Area--Iowa offer (K-State commit)
OL Benjamin Knox, North Florida--Iowa offer (Florida commit)
DE Lawrence Marshall, Detroit area--Iowa offer
OL Justin Falcinelli, western Maryland--Iowa offer

QB Tyler Wiegers from Michigan commits to Rutgers. I don't think he had an Iowa offer per se, but he had visited a few times and was receiving heavy interest from the staff. He noted Rutgers move to the B1G as a large factor in his decision.

Just wanted to pass on a note regarding OL Keegan Render of Indianola. According to his profile on 247Sports, Render took a visit to Iowa on Thursday and to Iowa State on Friday. 247Sports published an article about Render this evening, and they now list Render's interest in ISU as "Warm" and his interest in Iowa as "Warmer."

Final update of the night:
There are three new offers to pass along;
DE Sione Teuhema (Keller, TX)
DE Jesse Aniebonam (Olney, MD)
LB Dvonta Derricott (Garden City, KS--JuCo)

I was just about to comment on this. When I saw Dematha I thought ohh boy, I'm sure Coker if he still maintains a relationship with the coaches/players at the school, it might not be the most positive regarding Iowa.

I get your point but at the same time we have two DeMatha prep stars starting on our defense this year, which should bode really well for us.

This, and from what I can gather, I don't think Coker has any specific ill will towards either the football staff or the program in general. Any of his disdain goes higher up the foodchain than that. But he seems like a class guy that wouldn't hold that kind of grudge. Also, he is far enough removed from playing high school that he likely has no personal relationship with any of the players that we are currently recruiting there.

Multiple sites are reporting that Iowa is the most recent team to offer RB Chris James of Niles, IL. James has offers from Michigan St, Illinois, Arizona St, and others.
