total bullshit calls

All these examples listed but what does Nebby's appointed savior complain about in postgame? One personal foul that "cost them the game". I believe they had like two calls against them the whole day late in the game. What a self-entitled prick.

Well Nebraska has the mentality of those who enjoy coloring books and helmets for Christmas so what do you expect

I have a cousin who is a huge SEC fan (Auburn) who said, before the game, that there is no way Iowa will be allowed to win the game. He said he started noticing in the SEC several years ago that, when it was to the benefit of the conference that a certain team wins, somehow they almost always won - and the officiating (he has been a high school official for years) was almost always beyond suspect. He then said that he started seeing the same thing in the B1G a year or two ago.

I blew it off when he said it, but by the end of the game I had to admit he was right. There can be no other explanation for calls that were not just bad, but downright being made up in a couple of cases.

So is Iowa now to apologize to the Big Ten office for having the audacity to win the game anyway??? And if my cousin is right, what is this going to bode in the years to come? Good grief.

I hate to say this, but Duncan could/should have been flagged for taunting after the field goal since there was 1 second left on the clock. That is how bad those refs were by not calling it.

Id hope this is enforced on the kick off right? Or could have a flag negated the fg?

Yeah, the SEC absolutely protects the darlings. I said it in another thread, but the South Carolina-Florida game was the worst officiated game of the year. The SEC was clearly protecting Florida. I think the Big Ten will do the same to an extent. We've all seen Iowa get jobbed against the big boys, but even leaving aside fandom, watch some Illinois-Michigan games from the past. And watch Wisconsin's o-line in years they are good and Sparty's DBs in years they are good. Hold fests all over the place.

Big 12 protects its babies as well. Kansas got utterly BFed by the refs in a Texas game the year Texas won the title. The year Nebraska had Suh, Suh got held like 70% of the time because Texas couldn't block him. Nothing. Even ISU has gotten jobbed. I still watch football because I really like it, but the officiating is way more lopsided in hoops and I can't even watch that crap anymore.

I'm not normally one to rail on the refs too hard when your team has a lot of say in the outcome, but certain games deserve to be bitched about.

For me, this one ranks right up there with the 01/01/06 Outback Bowl and that Iowa/Missouri hoops game in the Guardians Classic from '01.

Pretty horrendous and one-sided. Does make you wonder.. Certain games, something really stinks, and it's not the players jock straps.

But this time: HAWKS WIN. SUCK IT.

I was at the Guardian's Classic. Terrible refereeing. Also the main reason I hate MO and why I don't want them in the B1G. If anyone enjoys bitching about any other B1G fan base, you're gonna absolutely love having MO in the B1G.

I hate to go here, but what we are seeing with officiating and such boils down to two things with me. We have a media and even conference that for some reason want Frost to be a savior and have all this success. Then you have legalized sports gambling.

There were a bunch, weren't there? The B1G evaluates all games from an officiating standpoint. I'd like to see that report from this game but I'm guessing we never will.
