Top Running Back Visits Iowa

Coe Post

Nice piece on Coe on the front page. Really nice running back, but MAN he might be an even more impressive LB.

I would be shocked if he ended up at Iowa, just knowing the poor decisions previous recruits have made.

Come on man. Be a Hawk!

Re: Coe Post

LOL, the kid has 18 scholarship offers from what reads like a who's who in college footbal programs. If he is destined to play LB ( or RB ) then Iowa would not be a bad choice for him, close to home and a good program with a history of developing talented LBs (and RBs).

Ummm, good hands and good speed maybe TE?

Re: Coe Post

I'd take the guy at RB in a heart-beat.

The good news is that if he doesn't work out well there ... there are several other positions where he'd be able to find success at Iowa.

I frankly don't believe that Iowa is quite as much of a long-shot as some folks might suppose.

However, that said, Oklahoma might be a tough one to go against. Hopefully proximity to home is an advantage that really works to our advantage.

Furthermore, between Iowa's coaching continuity and dedication to the running game ... you gotta figure that that gives Iowa a legit advantage over Mizzou and Illinois.

WOW. A man amongst boys.

Definitely a big kid. I bumped into him at the gas station along I80 near Grinnell. He still had his sticker on from his visit, so that was a dead giveaway :) I am 30yrs old, 5'11'', 200lbs, can press over 300+, can military press 110 lb dumbells 10 times, etc. etc. and this kid put me to shame.

He is all of 6'3'' 235 and then some. He was taller than me with as big of a frame. I've never seen a kid as athletic looking as him at the age of 16-17. Let alone at RB.

Hopefully Kirk and staff can seal the deal as he looks like he would fit into the Iowa Running game very well.

Thanks for your extended stats, I didn't really get the picture at first, but the military press data helped with the visualization. With that being said, HOLY $H*^ that dudes legit. He could play anywhere on the field.

Did anyone see the latest Rivals.com article on him? (today, not the one from HR)

I can't post what was said, because it is premium, but its ESPECIALLY positive for the Hawkeyes.

I'm convinced that the Shonn Greene success has opened eyes.
