This should be posted on the Nebraska board...oh wait...they would somehow say it was wrong...they were being victims of a conspiracy...who cares we are still the best program in the country...and the list goes on.

Funny to think we're ranked ahead of Michigan, Florida St., Tennessee, Miami, Notre Dame and Nebraska. If we ever go head to head in recruiting with these guys we are usually on the losing end - with the exception to maybe Nebraska.

I think Iowa should be ahead of Penn State. Since 04 I think the Hawks are 4-1 against them.

I don't think it's really an opinion. I think it's the average points from the last 8 years. So while the individual years are opinion this is just simply the average.

I am shocked that Iowa is below both Louisville and Wisconsin. Until this year and since 2002 I don't know that Wisconsin has finished ahead of Iowa in either the conference or national polls but maybe 1 time if that???? Seems odd.

I just pulled this from another forum. Not sure where it actually originated.

It would be nice to know how these rankings were calculated.

It appears to place heavy weights on conference championships. I wouldn't put Illannoy in my top 50 programs of the last 8 years. They had one great year, one solid year, and a bunch of awful ones.

Found the thread. Here is exactly what the poster said:

and for you poll lovers . . .

here's a look at the combined AP poll numbers from 2004 (Auburn's last undefeated season) to 2011:

So the Auburn person chose the last 8 yrs to make them look better? Seems you should use periods like 10 yrs, 20 yrs, 25 yrs or something.

I am shocked ND made the list at all :) or Illinois for that matter... Louisville had a couple good years is all, right?

I bet if you do go 10 yrs Iowa moves up, because it would lessen the effects of 05-07 mediocrity and include 2002 and 2003 when Iowa was 21-5 (IIRC).

You still won't be able to convince many Nebraska fans the Huskers are average the past 10 years even while playing in a mediocre B12 North. Michigan fans can accept the truth, and believe they will change it (and rightfully so). Neb fans don't even believe they have been largely irrelevant the past decade as it relates to the national scene. :)
