Top 10 coaches who won't survive the 2013 season

Every class that ISU has signed recently in the past has been at or near the bottom of the conference. Until that changes, it is the same type of talent they have always brought in. Show me a SIGNED recruiting class that says differently.

Also, what recruiting services have Lazard as the #1 WR in the class of 2014?

Just Rivals.

FYI in years that Dan McCarney actually had a tough Big 12 schedule (Texas, OU, and Tech), he went 7-33 in those years. 1-7, 1-7, 4-4 (Seneca), 0-8, 1-7.

Like I said before. KState and come to think of it, so has Kansas, have proven they can do it. I think we can too.

That's because those two schools had great and innovative coaches at that time. I love Rhoads, but he's not anywhere close to those coaches. This will be the biggest college job he'll ever get.

I just looked at your schedule for this year and the competition is tougher than I thought it would be. I see only one for sure win and it's against UNI. After that, you might have a chance against Iowa and KS, but I think you lose both those games as well.

I picked you guys at 3 wins, but it will not be a surprise at all if you only win one game.

Well color me shocked. Troll Campbell has no frickin idea what hes talking about.

Well to be fair, you acted like he wasn't at all in your post above.

I think 247sports has him at #14 in the country for athletes (which seems odd to have him there and not at WR) and a 4 star
Scout has him #15 at WR
ESPN has him at #33

I would imagine ESPN will bump him up after he competes in there camps, but you never know.

Uhh, wut?

Have you read the thread at all?

Sorry, I was going off the bolded quote

You don't think that Campos and Lazard being from Des Moines has anything to do with the reason they chose Iowa State? You think it has more to do with Rhoads turning the program around? That doesn't make sense. I think it's a fluke.

1. The state of Iowa rarely has recruits ranked as highly as Lazard. Iowa State just got lucky that the kids parents happen to be Iowa State alumni, and he was raised 20 minutes from campus.

2. I don't know much about Campos, but I imagine it's more of the same. He's from Des Moines.

My point is that scoring these recruits is great, but it isn't a big shocker. Certainly doesn't show that the recruiting is turning around. If Rhoads was pulling in 4 or 5 star recruits from out of state I'd be singing a different tune. Iowa puts out very few players of that caliber and the ones that do come out of the state usually end up wearing black and gold unless they grew up in an Iowa State family.

Speaking of which, Lazard is far from guaranteed at this point. I wouldn't count that chicken until it hatches.

Two recruits don't make a football program. It can for a BB program, but means little really for a football program.

It is like signing Keenan Davis. Sure it makes you feel good at the time, but when you end up looking at the results a no name signed kid (like Knott) actually make the program.

Look back and who is a better player:

Garmon or Bullock or Weisman?
Davis or McNutt?
Jake Christensen or Sanzi?

The list could go on and on. One recruiting service has Lazard at #1 and another at #25. While I will say that signing top * recruits increases you chances of being successful. That doesn't mean that when you only bring in 1 of them a year, that in the end, that 1 4* will be all that good.

I agree in the basketball vs. football comment. Also it wont swing a class as much either. So one 5 star recruit wont have a ton of recruits following in football.

Was Sanzi that asian recruit that didnt work out?

Come on, man. Let's all lay off him. He knows, deep down, they'll never be winners as long as they are in the big 12. It's hard for a fan to actually say that.

If I remember correctly, a few years ago ISU was in jeapordy of going to the MAC or Mountain West. When the Big 12 threw them a lifeline, they knew they were going to be seriously outgunned but had no choice. Now that is coming home to roost. I have said it many many times. ISU is a college football coaches graveyard. They will never....and I mean never be successful. The best thing that ever happened to Dan Mac was to get out of Ames. I'm sure it stung a bit to be fired. But he is soooo much better off today. If his health is ok, he will be coaching at a BCS school again soon. And if Pa Rhodes is half the coach y'all think he is, he will get out too.

Seriously, why are more and more B/R links popping up lately? It's a garbage site, and this is just one more example of that. No mention of KF's buyout, which prevents any realistic possibility of his termination. And the video documenting the discipline issues is just over 5 years old. Then there's Rhoads' presence on the list, which is an absolute joke. He's one of the safest coaches in the country right now.

Two problems I have with article it should say top 10 coaches who shouldn't survive and damn it kf deserves to be number one

Unless Adam Kramer or Jacobi is the author, I don't take Bleacher Report seriously...and those two write a lot of satirical pieces, so most all of B/R, I pretty much don't read save their items.

Surprised to see Paul Rhoads on there. As well a Illinois' coach. He is only in his second year? Don't think KF is going anyplace unless there is some drastic revelation about the program. If he goes, it will be three years before Iowa sees any daylight.
