Tonight's game

I am frustrated that tonight's game is only televised on Big 10 plus. However it is a great night to get out and support the team. Tip off is at 7:00 central. Tickets are $12, youth tickets are $6. Iowa is at home again in the post season, and thit should be a very fun game to watch!

Can't wait! I'll be there making some noise! Looking forward to Chase and Megan shutting down their 6ft. 5inch post player! GO HAWKS!!!!

Compared to Big 10 competition Renee Bennett will be a step down for Megan Gustafson. She averages 10 points and 5 rebounds per game. Ball State is not a deep team either. The key will be shutting down Nathalie Fontaine. She is their stat stuffer. I like it a lot to have the home court advantage too.

Ball St. played purdue and lost by 10. We split with purdue and beat them by 10. Playing in the BIG should be an advantage for the Hawks. Hope to see the Hawks play with some tenacity and fire! Like put a beat down on them! GO HAWKS!!

I can say one thing, Coach Bluder did a great job keeping her cool and not picking up a T. It must not have been easy with the way this game was called.

I was too upset to even post, so I figured it was best not to until I had a little time to compose myself.

On the good side all of Iowa's 72 points today were scored by players who are returning. Megan Gustafson had 22 points and 12 rebounds. She will be all big 10/American in coming years. Ally Disterhoft scored 19 points. She will be back for her senior season. Whitney Jennings added 13, and Tania Davis 12. The returning back court duo will be a great asset.

The 2016-2017 team has the capability to reach a very high level. They have another great recruiting class coming in. Carly Mohns will be back from her injury. Stewert and Larson will progress and contribute more next year. The team will be deeper and more experienced.

Reading the recaps it seems like Ball State was pretty physical and the refs let them play. Iowa just not ready for that kind of game yet. Curious if there is some reason Chase Coley didn't start? You are right the future looks bright, but Iowa does need another post player to step up next year. The returning core is solid - Disterhoft and Kastanek as Seniors, Jennings, Buttenham, Mohn, and Coley as Juniors, Davis and Gustafson as Sophmores; The incoming class is rated as a top 20 class - Ollinger, Meyer, Cera, and Sevillian but not much size there.

You are missing Hannah Stawert and Tagyn Larson.

I would have Megan Gustafson play as much time as she is capable at center with Hannah Stawert backing her up, or Chase Coley shifting from the 4 to 5. Carley Mohns, Tagyn Larson or Amanda Ollinger can all play the 4 backing up Chase.
