Tomorrow a Big Day for Iowa

We need some teams to choke tomorrow to help us out. Losses won't technically knock these teams off the bubble but it will make it easier for Iowa to pass them if they lose.

We need:

Providence (17-13) to knock off Cincinnati (21-10) - 11:00 am - ESPN
Stanford (18-13) to knock off Arizona St (20-11) - 2:00 pm - PACN
Oregon St (14-17) to knock off Colorado (20-10) - 4:30 pm - PACN
St. John's (16-14) to knock off Villanova (19-12) - 6:00 pm - ESPN2
San Diego St (21-9) to beat Boise State (21-9) - 11:00 pm - CBSS

Would be real helpful to see Oregon St, St John's or SDS win. All 3 would be a bad loss to end the year for a bubble team.

Arizona State is already cooked, not worried about them. Some say Villanova is in regardless so not really so concerned about them either. The rest, yes, need to go down.

Maybe I'm thinking backwards here, but I'd rather just have Cincy knock out Providence. As crazy as it sounds, I've seen Providence at the bottom of the bubble near Iowa, and Cincy is more or less in at this point. Though I guess that would change with a loss but then Providence might be in the discussion.

There is no way Providence can leap frog Iowa if they beat Cincinnati. They have a non conference schedule as bad as Iowa's, if not worse, with bad losses to Penn State, Boston College, Brown, and DePaul. They are 1-7 against the RPI top 50 which will turn into 0-7 if they beat Cincinnati (Cincy RPI is at 49 and their only win).

I think Cincy is pretty much locked in, I think we need to have the Bearcats officially take Providence out of the equation.

Right, so that game has little significance to us. Also I doubt Colorado can fall out with one loss, they're 15 spots ahead of us. Providence isn't really in the discussion, their RPI is worse than ours, they have two top 50 wins (zero top-40 wins) and three horrible losses.

Providence is also undisciplined. They all (both teams) run around like chickens with their heads cut off and apparently they are using a 15 second shot clock.

I'm not saying a loss knocks these teams off. We want them to lose so that we can jump them with a good BTT performance. We still have work to do no matter what other teams do. The amount of work we have to do depends on how well these teams fare. If they all fall flat one win may do it. I'm guessing some of them will do well so it will probably take 2-3 wins to make it in.

On a side note, how 'bout those Cincy Unis? Invoking my inner Sir Charles, I think they are 'turrible.

Live the chuckster and his grammar annunciation, if that's what it is that defines his speech. Turrribly laffy when combined with how brutally honest he is.

The good news is Stanford has beaten ASU, OSU has beaten Colorado, and SDSU has beaten Boise St. this year while St. Johns lost in OT @ Villanova. While these may not go like everyone wants, none would be a real upset either way.
