125: McDonough vs. Garnett - V. Tech.
MCD has sites on the finals specially with nickerson getting beat on the bottom side. MCD goes up against Jarrod Garnett who is 25-5 on the season. He is a rsso and he had a big upset first round and is on a roll but i don't see MCD slowing down and i look for a big win from him. MCD majors Garnett becoming Iowas first all-american
133: Dennis vs. Fanthorpe- ISU
DD is the clear favorite having Fanthorpes number every time it seems i don't know the overall record between those too but one thing is dd has to come out ready to wrestle because fanthorpe has been silent all year long with a record of 18-7 and he is not going to stop his senior year. this should be a good battle but i see dennis winning a close decision
141: Marion vs. Lindsey - Ohio.
Lindsey just had a big upset against #3 seed michael thorn who i was looking forward to the matchup agains marion and him as thorn pinned marion at the duals and marion beating him in the big 10 dual. Marion should NOT look past lindsey but i do think we are favored in this match and marion will win a decision here
149: Metcalf vs. Mueller - ISU.
Metcalf has had muellers number every time but it seems like he is closing the gap only by stalling out. Metcalf seems to be on a mission and i see metcalf getting a decision here just falling short of a major
157: Kerr vs. Erisman - Okie St.
This is going to be a tough match for kerr don't see us being favored here as erisman has a lot of mat time on the season coming into the ncaa tournament having a record of 27-8. see kerr losing a decision here for the hawks.
165: Morningstar vs. King - Edinboro
Man m* is having a great tournament and i think he 'upsets' king here as he struggle with the 14-8 brandon hatchett last round. King is the #2 seed with only one loss but i believe m*'s knee is not a factor and this will be a battle and m* pulls of a close decision
174: Borschel vs. Blanton - Illinois.
Not going to go into too much depth here but blanton is a so. and is 16-7 on the year. don't see him coming close to competing with jaybo and he will get a decision close to a major though.
184: Keddy vs. Smith - Boise St.
This is the first match i believe we are not favored in bout iowa seems to be wrestling tough. this match could go our way if keddy continues to be agressive right away. when i say unfavored i have to go with the way keddy has been wrestling. one interesting stat is keddy is ahead in this battle beating smith 3 out of 4 times. still see keddy losing a close decision here
197: Beatty vs Kennedy - Lehigh
Beatty had a close consilation match tonight and tommorrow morning i see him breaking out and dominating kennedy who is 19-15 on the season as a sophmore. i think beatty almost majors here....go manbear!!
285: Erekson vs. Dudziak - Duke.
The matchup of the tournament for erekson because i think he has no problem beating z if he gets to the semi's. dudziak is undefeated and has had a good tournament so far. erekson seems to be on a tear and i believe he 'upsets' duziak winning by decision
This tournament is in iowas hands. its theirs to lose and if they do what we all know they can do this title will be locked up tommorrow night. if they don't come out to wrestle a couple other schools could creep up. with 8 wrestlers on the front side with isu and oky having 5 there is room for this to slip away from iowa.
