you have to go back to 2004-2005 where they went 12-1 in OOC play, then went 7-9 in conference play finishing 21-12, winning 9 in a row during OOC play

Only non conference loss that year was in Maui to eventual national champ UNC. That team was very good until they lost Pierce.

Beat Texas and Louisville in Maui and took top ranked Illinois to OT in Champaign.

I know that that team lost pierce and that is a major reason to having a losing record in b1g play (if not the only reason). But herby understand in the b1g with the talent we have predicting a 9-9 season is not having no faith in the coach or players it is being realistic to the difficulty the b1g possess. I think we will go 10-8 but 9-9 will be difficult as a talented team like that ended up below .500.
