Oh I can blame them for not challenging the spot twice in the last two games when I think they clearly would have won...
Everyone will keep watching. Just temper your expectations a little. If you tell yourself we will rarely be ranked and have no shot at being a relevant program then you won’t be so disappointed when we get beat. As long as Ferentz is here this will be the reality.
PSU's defense is not good. No argument there. But that doesn't play into our strength....now does it. Their defense is going to look like the 85" Bears against a BF offense. Mark my words. How did you learn this? By watching App State take them to overtime? Or by watching Illinois abuse their defense with their running game for 3 1/2 quarters.
Penn States defense sucks. They are going to get steam rolled by OSU. It may be close early...but OSU can get to the QB without Bosa...and I honestly think PSU offensive line has protection problems too.
Exactly. We'll probably score 20+ points but they'll score 40.Yeah, after watching our pass coverage if we cant pressure McSorley and slow down PSU run game they will score a lot of points and our offense at PSU will probably score much less
I'm not necessarily blaming the coaching staff for last night.. but I can blame them for getting dominated by Wisconsin since the inception of the West division.
Last 10 seasons - WISCONSIN= 101- 34 vs KF/IOWA = 82-48. You're the idiot. You people are idiots. Wisconsin was a top 5 team before last week and got a wake up call by BYU. That offensive line is full of NFL players. What wrong with you people? I'm not going to watch anymore. What a bunch of pussies.
If you didn't notice our offense went up and down the field...we had receivers running open (a common complaint) most of the night. If we don't turn the ball over twice we win. How can you blame a coaching staff for two fumbles in the punting game no less. One is just freak thing...the other...a young player didn't protect the ball...and we still should have won the damn game.
Our coaching staff did one hell of a job last night. Wisconsin had a great game plan offensively. Where were we susceptible? We are light at the DT position? Where did they attack all night with their huge offensive line...in the middle...and they played with 7 offensive linemen most of the night. For 59 minutes they had 14 points and 7 were given to them.
Turnovers is why we lost...not coaching. I'm sorry, I don't like to call people names...really...but you are freaking morons to call out the coaching staff.
McSorley doesn’t have Wisconsin’s OLYeah, after watching our pass coverage if we cant pressure McSorley and slow down PSU run game they will score a lot of points and our offense at PSU will probably score much less
Didn’t you just “like” a post upstream about tempering expectations of rarely being ranked and have no shot at being a relevant program?Wisconsin has now joined Ohio St (1990, 92, 96, 98, 2000) and Michigan (1989, 91, 94, 98, 2001) to beat Iowa 5 times in a row at Kinnick in the modern era of Iowa football (HF/KF).
Wisconsin is a damn good program but they're not on Ohio St or Michigan 1990s level. There is zero excuse for this nonsense. Totally unacceptable
Then do it.Everyone will keep watching. Just temper your expectations a little. If you tell yourself we will rarely be ranked and have no shot at being a relevant program then you won’t be so disappointed when we get beat. As long as Ferentz is here this will be the reality.
No I won't watch, because I do not get any enjoyment out of watching important games forfeited away by dumb critical mistakes, and games given away by failing to make critical plays at opportune times that you have to make, whether by playcalls or execution. That game was a huge opportunity. It was very winnable, but they pissed it away yet again, and it is getting to be very tiresome. I truly hope you enjoy the rest of the season for what is probably going to end up another 8 winner. I will still follow the team, but I won't watch games that seem to do nothing except raise my blood pressure to dangerous levels.I get not planning the day around a game. I'm talking about folks saying their no longer gonna watch, or are "done" with....
If you post here, you're likely a pretty hardcore fan, I simply dont believe you're not gonna watch.
This loss is in the top 5 of suck of the last 20 years, and likely ends any special season chances. It was enormous for a few reasons, and was within grasp. A gutting loss.
But you'll watch, because you care.

Dude...I'm somewhat fanatical about Iowa Football and it pains me to see a loss like last night. However, I saw positives in the way that a young team is developing. You have to remember, if the season were to end today...we would have 8 back on defense and 9 back on offense...and several other players who have played significant meaningful snaps. This is a very young team.
That being said, my disappointment lasts a few hours and then I flush it and try to piss off all the Ferentz haters on the board by pointing out all the positives with the team and program. That's more fun than some of the games. I bleed black and gold...but it's only a game.
the question is if he will actually fix itThe way I see it, we were the better team and we lost. That happens. If any of a number of things go right (or at least not wrong) we win by two TDs. Ferentz knew it. You could see it in his face.
Im tired of always having to have the "bounces" go our way to win.
When do we start playing to win and not lose.
At what point do we bring the offense into the 21st century?
We were better than this wiscy team, yet here we are, going for 8 wins again.
I will support the players. I may or may not watch now. I will not make sure there are no plans on Saturdays.
This loss was more of the same ol', same ol', boring and uninspired.
Go Hawks.

The sneak would have worked if they hadn't stopped the game to look at the spot. They were trying to do our typical tempo-quick-sneak, and it looked like Wiscy was scrambling. After the break, though? Yeah that was the wrong playcall, but that's also hindsight. So 19 first downs (to their 19), 404 yards of total offense (to their 415), 256 yards passing (to their 205) isn't enough offense? We handed that game to them with turnovers. The player blocking on the punting team who inadvertently kicked the ball cost us a touchdown. The fumble on the punt return hurt us, even though Wisconsin didn't score on that turnover, because we would have had the ball at midfield instead of Wisconsin. Those two plays dictated what happened afterward. I didn't like the QB sneak on 4th and short but it has worked in the past so historically speaking we should have made it.
