Timeout after Turnover???

Love Fran but that was huge turnover that Iowa got with around 50 seconds to go and not using a timeout with 2 remaining was IMO not smart. He needed to take one and talk to his YOUNG TEAM...

Overall good effort by Iowa today, but didn't like that ending..

I agree. If the team was a year older, maybe you let them play through that, but as is, you have to at least make sure everyone is on the same page. Great effort overall, but little things like this are the difference between a win and a loss.

I'm torn on this. Usually, I would say look for something quick off
TO. If nothing call timeout and run a great set. But, Indiana's defense is so good you are then allowing them to set up vs a scramble off a turnover

I would agree if Iowa was looking poised, but they didn't look very comfortable and Fran should have seen. It was to big of an opportunity for Iowa..

I think he felt the momentum was in our favor and wanted to get something off of that. I don't disagree with it, this team will learn to slow down enough to make better decisions. There were a lot of things that could have been better an we hung with them the whole way. Very excited to say the least.

You mean the WIDE OPEN McCabe look?
Yeah, horrible no call by Fran. Nobody wants a wide open 3 look down 3.
Backseat drivers rejoice!!!

Once there was no "easy" or "quick" opportunity off of it, I think a TO was warranted, Iowa was a bit out of control. With the youth and Marble not hitting, I don't think it would have been argued at all if Fran had taken it.

This team will be so good... you guys that need instant gratification.... there are websites for that!

No need for sarcasim my friend. It is just my opinion.

IMO Iowa was not in control and needed a Timeout. It took them 20 seconds to get off a shot.

You're right. No need for sarcasm. I actually was calling for a TO too; however, we got a WIDE OPEN look: a catch and shoot, clear line of sight shot.
A timeout, at best, would have resulted in the exact same type of look.

Outside of one play Indiana seem to be defending the out of bounds pass in plays well. Though Oglesby did get one very good look. So knowing the majority of pass ins were well defended, no point allowing Indiana to concentrate it's defense on Iowa's strengths.

Can't ask for anything more than a wide open 3 point shot for a player who is capable of knocking it down. Iowa lost, it sucks, but they are young and will learn from the experience. If this game is played a month and a half from now, we probably would have come out on top.

True. Ferrell ate him alive. But JO played pretty bad too. That guy seriously cannot find the open man to save his life. Also loved that JVB-esque fast break pass that almost broke White's neck.

Apparently you missed him find the wide open man for the easy layup.

The pass to White was the worst play JO has made in his career, I didn't think he played bad at all, one play defines him in this game though.

I really don't care if they were under control or not. They got a terrific look from a guy who you would think would snap out of his slump eventually. There is no way in hell they'd have gotten a better look than that out of a timeout.

I can see the other argument, and wouldn't be upset had he called a timeout. But I don't think he was wrong for letting them play, either.
