The defense holding them to under 20 is contingent on the offense not having a half dozen consecutive three and outs or 5 play drives with one first down each. If we go out and have our typical three and out, followed by one sustained drive, followed by a half dozen drives that yield a total of 38 net yards, the defense will be a sieve by the start of the 4th quarter and Wisconsin will put up 17 in the 4th alone.
It is ALL hinging on Iowa's offensive line.
Big game from AJ, stone gets a turnover deep in badger territory, LaPorta emerges and Goodsen has some long gainers. Take care of the ball, limit penalties. Run when they expect a pass, pass when they expect a run. Everyone says our opponents know exactly what our plays are by our formations. Show those formations, do something else. With nearly everyone in the media and much of the fan base picky Wisky to win this week, this is just the kind of motivation Iowa needs to come in and play with a chip on their shoulder.
I think this is the game where AJ Epenesa plays his best game of the season. Illinois and Ohio St. we’re able to come off the edge on that side of the line to give Coan problems.
BF has been cooking something up just for this game since last summer. We haven’t seen any trick plays on offense or our kick game yet this season. We should expect the unexpected here.
Despite the majority picking Wisconsin, I’m gonna go against the consensus and pick Iowa to win in unexpectedly easy fashion. It will still be a tough game but it finally all comes together. The perfect storm(swarm). Iowa 28 Wisconsin 17
