Tim Tebow = Vince Young

Watching VY play tonight reminded me of watching Timmay so far this year. Both guys are awful passers with bad deliveries but somehow they both find a way to win more often than not. This week both guys spent the 1st 55 minutes of the game acting like theyve never played QB only to engineer very impressive game winning TD drives.

I think they will have very similar career paths and even when you compare their college careers they have a ton in common.

It will be interesting to follow and see if Tebow can sustain success and keep a job as a starter. After tonight's game VY is 31-17 as a starter and he is now a career backup....which is bizarre for a NFL QB who wins 65% of his games.

I know they arent the same but given their histories and how they play the position they have a ton in common imo

Personality wise they obviously have nothing in common but they had similar success and college and I bet their NFL career paths will be similar as well

Jake Locker is far superior to both teblow and radio. He came in for hasselberger in the titans game and played really well. Very mobile, good crisp accurate passes. He's smaller than I thought, however.
I also didn't notice Locker confusing a football field with a church.

He's also more than halfway through his second year in the NFL while Cam is a true rookie with only one year of D1 football in his background.

You could talk to every GM and HC in the NFL and there isn't a single one who would take Tebow over Newton, not one.

He has a Jeff George or Drew Bledsoe arm. Also, both guys had the penchant for throwing the wrong ball at the wrong time. Nonetheless, DBs often got burned because they didn't account for the strength of either guy's arm.

But alas, dumb play. Cam is settling in well to that type of career.

Vince and Tebow are also good comparisons. Both guys have the type of run game that D's don't expect. However, once they stop being stupid and just play their responsibilities, that will be that.

Also, the Panthers are without their best 2 LBs and that defense is just plain awful. They got like 3 turnovers in the first half and still gave up 49 points. They couldn't stop anyone in the 2nd half.

This is stupid also. Cam is doing all of his damage dropping back in the pocket and reading defenses. He has prototypical NFL skill in that regard (Tebow doesn't), he also has the best body and athletic ability of any QB in the history of the NFL.

Ohh, and Geoff George and Drew Bledsoe are nothing alike either. Yes both had good arms but Drew had NONE of the issues George had off the field or in the locker room.

Listen, I think Newton is good. I think he has a bright future at QB. Same as Andy Dalton. I also think that winning football games is all that matters and Tebow does that. And yet some still hate on him. Wait until he gets better. If he is an average thrower than he will be a great QB.

Young and Tebow are great comparisons. Both just win.
