Tim Miles Postgame

He's done a good job in Lincoln. They'll be a tougher out with a healthy roster in their building.

He's no Bo Pelini. Seems to be a level headed guy & well spoken. He talked about how deceiving White's speed is. Says his first couple strides seem slow but once he gets going he just flys down the court & beats everyone else to the baseline. Pretty spot on. Never really thought of that.

But, now that he mentions it, I can see White taking off slowly then just just rocketing down the court. He's pretty smooth in transition.

Miles is a class act. One of the few B1G opposing coaches I actually don't mind.

I actually really like him, not just don't mind him. He's like Ken Griffey, Jr. was on the baseball field. Not that he's the coaching equivalent of Junior, but he's like Griffey in that he just always looks like he's having a blast doing his job.

I have met Tim Miles a couple of times ... once when he came in to do a guest spot on a program, and the other was at the arena when he came by to chat after their shoot around. He is pretty much what you see. No fake smiles, no slaps on the back. Just a genuine guy. Almost always smiling. SOOO much different than Pelini ever was.

But, I have to tell you ... seeing him jawing at Crean and being held back by assistants during the Indiana game was a shock for everybody. Even the officials were surprised.

He knows this year is going to be tough for them. Yeah, they've had a couple of injuries, but the biggest problem is he needs someone who can step up and take control of the team when Petteway goes mental. As he usually does about once a game. Last year, they had Gallegos who had the magic touch. This year??? No one has stepped up yet.

Anyone got the low down on what the spat was with Crean. Obviously more than just jawing over a hard foul. Miles was asked bout it at the press conference after the game, but deferred the question to Crean.
