Three Point Swing In The Point Spread Today

This morning I looked at the spread for the game and it was still Iowa giving 1.5 points. Tonight I took a look again and now all of the sudden it's Arizona giving 1.5 points. A 3 point swing in the points spread is huge!!! I had to jump on all the Hawkeye websites to make sure there wasn't a major injury. Somebody dumped a TON of money on Arizona to see a swing like that.

Accordong to TOS some bigshot sports bookie guy looked over all the circumstances going into this game (time zone change, Iowa hasn't won out west since 1997, revenge factor, Norm, etc) and not only put down a bunch on AZ but he must be one of those guys that publishes his theories and a bunch of people followed and that is why the line moved to AZ favored by 3.5.

Brandon Wegher is welcome to come back at ANYTIME, however he may not play this year, as for Daniel Murray I think that is also a non-issue in their eyes because of Mossbrucker. I don't know why he is listed as suspended though? All other stats are spot on (trends & current lines for all online sites and vegas casinos), I was mainly referencing that part of the site.

I just thought that was funny. and they have Dick listed as Richard Stanzi.

Nothing against Murray (other than his wounded-duck kicks) but his injury may be the best thing that could happen for our kicking game.

Head games...is the last thing you need with kickers. And two guys constantly leap-frogging each other just muddies the water...constantly thinking you're going to lose your job is a distraction kickers don't need.

I like that fact that Mossbrucker is the man now.

Everyone can relax moving the spread from 1/1.5 favor to other side 1 pt favor is usually nothing more than books changing the juice around. The surprise to me was the jump of 4 toward the over. Line open Iowa 1 is currently Arizona 1 . No major moves.

P.S. I would not use covers.

All this adjustment in the spread means is that Vegas is trying to move and stimulate betting. Has little to do with who is going to win.

Neither team has played a legit opponent. Arizona has looked anything but perfect. Their QB has thrown a pick in each of the first two games against inferior opponents and they have committed an average of 7 penalties in each game. Iowa on the other hand hasn't thrown a pick and we are averaging 2.5 penalties per game.

Their RB is 5'10 - 190...taller than you'd like and not as stout. Our guys are both 205+ and shorter.

Their OLine is BIG and I'm talking 330+ big and they are mostly Sr's but they are not very deep. That is probably the only position that scares me.

Their QB is accurate but he is prone to making mistakes - thus the 2 picks vs inferior opponents. Their team will spend the majority of the time throwing the football. If we can get pressure on him, the game will be over before halftime...if we can't then we could be in some trouble.....

Obviously someone at TOS is connected

I predicted this swing at the start of the week. I thought the "experts" would pick Zona to win and the momentum for people betting on them would build throughout the week. I think this is a good thing.

I just looked at a Vegas website and they still have Iowa giving 1.5.

Bodog has it as a "pick em" game. It opened at 2 so their line has moved 2 points.

Bookmaker has Iowa +1 and their line opened at Iowa -1.5 so their line has moved 2.5

What was the spread when they played Nebraska in the Holiday Bowl? What about when we played GT in the Orange Bowl?

Just sayin...

God...who give a crap about the spread.
