Three Point Swing In The Point Spread Today

This morning I looked at the spread for the game and it was still Iowa giving 1.5 points. Tonight I took a look again and now all of the sudden it's Arizona giving 1.5 points. A 3 point swing in the points spread is huge!!! I had to jump on all the Hawkeye websites to make sure there wasn't a major injury. Somebody dumped a TON of money on Arizona to see a swing like that.

I think it was the BTN behind the schemes program with Dinardo and Mason last night.
Denardo made it sound like Iowa had to play near perfect to win. He made a few off the cuff remarks about how strong AZ defense is.

It was my understanding that their defense wasn't that good

I'm glad the lines moving so much to Arizona, it'll be like all the people who don't believe in the hawks are getting fined.

My site has the game as a PK game right now, which means that most likely the money is pretty even now on both sides. Generally when a road team comes in as a PK game, they have a really, really good shot to win that game. I am just basing that off my own experiences in the past. Nothing scientific to it at all, but if I ever were to bet the Hawks, I would not hesitate taking them as a PK, +1.5 or -1.5 in this game!

Apparently not, as at least one thread has a poster saying that they're nervous about this game *because* the point spread changed so much. IMO, said poster has a gambling problem.

Anyone heard of Dr. Bob? He released a pick on Arizona yesterday. The books always move the line after his picks come out because of the amount of people who follow the guy.

That's the only reason this line moved. Don't worry about it.

There are only a couple of places that make the line. If you think vegas makes the line your clueless. If you look at bodog you aren't much better. The two lines that matter are Cris, and Pinnacle. Pinnacle opened Iowa a one point favorite, they use 10cent juice. So its -105, -105. Right now Arizona is 1pt favored. If you moved the line back to Iowa being One pt favorite is +104. Is a 9cent swing no big deal so for all you rookies and freaks( ie covers users). A 9 cent move is 100% NO BIG DEAL.

Anybody who truly believes that betting lines affect football games (barring outright illegal activity like payoffs), or lets it affect their enjoyment of a football game, is an idiot.

I use covers for what it is, a free statistical site that i can get quick info about a game. I Probably wager anywhere from $100-$500 on any given weekend with a real bookie. And then I probably throw about $200 in an online account to make silly parlays and "if"-bets to try to hit big, when thats out I stick with my bookie. Please humor yourself as though you are an expert betting enthusiast. Any person that makes a living with gambling would be filthy rich, or living in a cardboard box (people that can say they can pick 58+ are elite.) I also had a friend that tried a vegas challenge while living in vegas a couple years ago; basically you had to pick 66% winners from 5 NFL games each week. If you did so you got $10k and a Job for said casino. Needless to say the challenge has never been won. go figure. Thanks for your interesting stat though

That may or may not be true, but it isn't really relevent to the situation. He stated he was concerned there was that large of a swing and asked if it might be due to an undiclosed injury.

He made no statement indicating the line itself would be a factor in the outcome, nor did he say the line was going to impact his "enjoyment" of the football game.

Again I'd suggest reading his post critically, and this time try not and let your personal feelings on sports betting impact your take.
