This Week's Poll: The Most Painful KF Era Losses

How about these statistics on JVB for his carreer.

Between own 20-39 and between the 40's he has 3 TDs 10 INTs 22 sacks

From opponents 20 yardline and overtime in he has 16 TDs and 1 INTs and 1 sack.

LOL. Obviously, he needs to shore up those 40-80 yard TD numbers.

You should just rest your case on this one. Indisputable evidence of KF making the right call imo. Nicely done.

Im not saying if it is the right or wrong call. Im just saying you cant say that for sure it was the wrong call.

I actually would have went for it. That is what I said at the time too, because I felt they were lucky to even be tied in the game. I also think they could have scored a TD on the last pass in OT because if I remember right DJK looked like he had single coverage and had his man beat but JVB threw it to McNutt who was doubled with a cb and a safety.

the one that says the offense scores more often then the defense

it would be tough to use statistics JVB accumulated after that game to decide whether our offense or their defense had a better chance to score with 40 seconds left

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

At least we learned many valuable lessons from this game..apparently you can not have your helmet nearly ripped off your head or you will get a facemask penalty called against you.

Yes, that and Florida fans aren't as nice the second go around. They were downright rude this game. The first time they were ****** at Ron Zook, the second game they focused their venom on us.

I picked ISU 02, Wisc 10, and NW 2005.

I admit that NW 2005 is probably not huge to a lot of people, but I got married that day and I turned off the radie with a few minutes left and iowa firmly in control, then after the ceremony I was pi$$ed when I heard they lost.

Why did you get married on a Saturday during football season? How can you even consider yourself a fan! :)

Without a doubt 2005 NW was the most painful loss for me. Not because of the significance of the loss, but how we lost. Blowing a 13 point lead in the last 3 minutes of a game we had been dominating. I could not shake that loss for days. I know there are so many losses to NW this one gets lost in the shuffle.

I agree. This was #1 on my list. That loss was so painful. I just could not get over it. We had a bye week after it as well IIRC so that made it even worse. I hate Northwestern and this game is one of the biggest reasons why. We dominated that game, and a couple of bad calls and a couple of bad breaks, and all of a sudden we lost. Painful. I also selected '09 OSU. I wasn't mad at the time because we played so admirably, but in retrospect that is a tough loss when we were so close to the Rose Bowl and a B1G title. Last I put Wisconsin '10, because we should have won that game, and that game propelled Wisconsin to back to back Rose Bowls. Had we just won they would not have won the Big Ten that year and maybe, just maybe they would have faltered even more and we wouldn't have to be listening to how great the Badgers are now.

I can still feel the sting from that 2010 Wisconsin game, I was so stunned how that game finished up and all the missed chances to put that game away. Only getting 3 points after the Greenwood interception should have told me the upcoming outcome. I knew we couldn't stop their running game at the end of the game and was yelling just let them score already. We need the time to score because they couldn't stop us either!!!

Pretty sure we played at Wisconsin the week following the NW game in 05 and pulled off the upset on Alvarez day. Maybe the best bounce back win of KF's career.

I tend to be somewhat stoic about coming up short when the team is playing well and having success. It’s the self defeating stuff and wasted efforts.

#1. 2005 NW 28-27 after double digit 4 quarter lead. Every time I see the Hawkeye’s seize up late in a game this game comes back.

#2 2007 Western Michigan loss. Futility! The lowest point.

#3 2010 Wisconsin; fake punt. Noooooooooooooooooo!!!

1--Northwestern in 2009. Just unreal how pathetic the offense was that day after Stanzi left.

2--Western Michigan in 2007. Senior Day, at Kinnick, a mediocre MAC team as the opponent, a bowl game on the line, and they still couldn't find a way to win? That wasn't a great Iowa team, but that was an inexcusable loss no matter how you rationalize it.

3--Wisconsin in 2010. Like the other poster said--still not over it. And Iowa has been mediocre ever since.

I didn't include the ISU game in 2002. I was fee--URiois after that one, but at the same time, Senecca Wallace was a great college qb. With a real program and a better coach, there's no telling what he might have been able to accomplish at the college level. No shame in losing to a player of that caliber, particularly when we were starting DJ Johnson and a true frosh in a secondary that would struggle without Benny Sapp all year long.

Most Florida fans didn't think we'd beat them the first time which factored in pretty heavily too.

After reading through this thread and seeing several people post that they are still not over losses that occured years ago makes me feel sorry for them.

Save your sympathy and just be satisfied with your feelings of superiority-- it's an Internet message board, and people are talking about gut wrenching losses.

Haha....all Im saying is if years after the fact you still arent over the result of a college football game then you might need to re-prioritize your life just a little.

I didn't realize this was a here and now sort of question about lingering trauma.

Because I'm sure they mean that in the literal sense.

Western Michigan. It was unreal watching the players leave the field, obviously embarrassed. I was still parking at Finkbine back then, and I've never heard so many fans angry.

Ding, ding, ding. Winner by a landslide.
