This team needs your support

There have beem alot of mistakes on special teams the last few years and not alot of big plays. I am beginning to think it is not a player problem.

My support means nothing but since they are my favorite team and my alma mater I'm still going to watch them.

I said nothing of the sort. I said that they're poorly coached. I am not upset with our players, I'm upset with our worthless PoS head coach and his schitty staff.
Is that clear, fella?
Perfectly.

Well, no, not really.

HawkeyeWalker said it was stupid to think the players don't care. And your response was to him, "Was that why the hands-on team ran away from the ball like it was radioactive? Because they're ******?"

I mean, wading through the sarcasm you can see it can't you?

Run away from the ball like it was radioactive? If you're not saying they were scared are you saying they were intelligently protecting themselves from possible harm?

And when you say "they ran away from the ball because they were ******" what did you mean?

You can say you're not upset with the players, but your earlier post sure doesn't seem like it backs up your later claim.

I agree with you your later comments that the coaching staff did not have this team prepared. Clear?

Don't quit on this team.. The night is always darkest just before the dawn.

I won't quit on the players or the team as a whole. I won't waste my money going to another game but I will watch.
And for the record, I have quit on the coaching staff. Period.

May we quit on the coaching staff?

I cannot agree more? This program is on a big down hill slide! We need a younger more energetic staff. Look at NW for an example. With the ridiculous contract that coach ferentz has, there are going to be many more bad saturdays. Our offense is ala 1977, and we constantly look lost and confused in situations where quick thinking is required. Am I fed up? Yes, me and about 150,000 fans

I don't seem to recall getting "smoked" by Minnesota the last two years.

Maybe a different word would be better for you instead of "smoked"...I have compiled a list below

Beat
Whooped
Spanked
dropped
LOSE

5 should be enough for you to get it.

It's not about getting it...it's about being right. I'll go with one fluke loss and beat.

What was wrong with the offense today? Other than a QB who is incapable of working through his progressions, and play-calling that strayed away from the run in the 2nd quarter, the offense was on point today, and performed quite well against UNI, too. 31 points should be enough to defeat a MAC team. If anyone unit was to blame today, it was the defense's continued inability to get a stop in the 1st half. Right now, that is a more disturbing trend than any argument (scheme wise) you could make against the offense. The offense has shown improvement over the last several weeks; I'm not sure you could say the same about the defense.

Wasn't more than half the hands team on the other side of the field? How did they run away from the play? And didn't more than half of the hands team on the onside side of the field do what they were supposed to and take out a couple of CMU players. Onsides rarely work because it normally takes a freakish bounce to get it; that would be football. However, MUCH less often the onside works because a player simply blows his assignment. That was the case in this game. And the coaching staff didn't do theirs in having the players prepared.

The Hawk coaching staff was outcoached most of the game. They were outcoached on the onside, too.

There's no need to be sophomoric.
The facts are evidence enough that not only do the players need to do their jobs, but the coaches need to do theirs as well.

Totally agree.

The coaching staff is solely responsible for ensuring that their players are properly coached for each & every situation. The coaching staff is paid to ensure that their players are prepared, and that the players on the field at any given time are the best they can be at their position and duties.

Do you think the Iowa coaching staff is fulfilling these objectives?

I don't.

Post of the weekend.

And by the way, this is why criticizing execution over play-calling is *not* the same thing as excusing the coaches.

There are some players on this team that deserve your support. The coaching staff, I closed the book on these clowns a long time ago. Same with Barta.
