Neither am I, but it's not like the team would be locked into any long term commitment; he only signed a one-year deal with the A's anyway.
That's the thing, this is sort of a transition year for the team. They've got at least one big contract coming off the books next year, and possibly three. If they're out of it, they'll need to know what they have for next year before the end of this year. The problem with that is that it seems like this years team and last years team are very similar - just good enough to keep you interested, but not good enough where you think they might have a shot.
