#hawkeye nation stop writing about r players n a negative way. Y'all ain't recruit us the Iowa fb team did. Keep things positive

So apparently the guys over on HaLo starting a thread bad mouthing Laron Taylor. It didn't take too long before Laron found it. Probably not a good face to put forward to perspective recruits. Hopefully this blows over with no recruiting casualties. What a bunch of dumbasses they are over on HaLo...

Tried to retweet it but Maurice's tweets are protected. Ment to post this earlier and forgot. Whatta joke

#thinskin

It's not that simple and it makes us as a whole look bad. These are high schoolers here, and on top of that recruits who haven't put their name on the dotted line yet. Did you really think 100% rationally when you were 18 years old? Probably not.

What was said about laron; and what did he say back? Cause I think he's going to be a special athelete for the hawks. A christian kirksey type player

Its still dumb to talk about high school and college players in a bad way. Especially when it comes to Hawkeye players. But that seems about right for the people on HaLo.

Title of the thread:

Laron Taylor - Chances of making it at Iowa - 0.0%?

Content of that thread:

I'm new to this whole "Twitter" thing but decided to check it out. I "followed" some of the Hawkeye beat writers for recruiting updates and through that found myself following a few recruits. I have to admit, it was equal parts interesting and pathetic.

Anyway, one of the recruits I "follow" is Laron Taylor. All I can say is that I wish him well at Iowa. Holy ****, that dude is going to keep KF awake at night. Half his tweets seem to reference gambling on college games. The other half seem to focus on "*******." It's hard to tell because he seems to be tweeting in a foreign language.

Iowa hasn't had a ton of luck with Detroit-area players with Martin-Manley being the exception. This dude seems like a CIB situation waiting to happen
.

The low-lifes that post on HALO are the absolute dregs of society.

All the worst posters from Rivals over the years congregated to one centralized, un-Holy, sludg-like substance.

You'll find a more trustworthy and credible group of characters in the rapist cell block of your average state prison.

I really gonna change where you would go because acouple of cornholers on a website would say something about you? 18 year olds or not that is far from a reason to switch a commitment, you should be mature enough to blow that off. There are *** holes in every fanbase, people are going to say something about you even get to step foot on the field to prove yourself.
Too small for a position, too slow.... I don't know what was said but I can't imagine anything bad enough to go somewhere else. Maybe annoying and might wanna beat someones ***, but you are coming to play because of the coaches and the school, not .001% of the fanbase on a free website.
Just saying if recruits do read these boards.... regardless of your star* ratings, we are happy to have you on board. If the coaches think you will fit into what Iowa does and stands for, then welcome aboard.
And no I don't believe it makes Iowa fans look bad, it makes those that did it look like dip****s. I believe Iowa has one of the best, if not THE BEST fan backing of any college team out there.

It's classless, clueless, idiotic, and immature to bad mouth high school and college players.

And everybody does it, sadly.

But vegas is right: if you're changing your mind because of what some idiot says on Twitter, then you've got your head in the sand.

And sorry to say but if you don't think idiot fans on social media and websites have an impact on recruiting you're head is in the sand just as deep. Didn't some kid just decommit from USC not but a few days ago because of fans bad mouthing him and questioning him online? Then if I recall correctly there was a kid down in Mississippi that changed his commitment because of fans bad mouthing him online. Ladies and gents, we live in a new world. Social media dictates things now. 10 years ago if we wanted to **** and moan about a player/recruit we did it amongst each other in person. The odds of it getting back to that player/recruit we're slim and none. Today, you say something online or on Facebook/twitter, it's out there for everybody to see. All Laron had to do was google his name and that thread came up.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen. At 18 years old, you should be old enough know that the opinion of an individual online doesn't reflect that of an entire fan base, but rather that of that individual. I have yet to know anyone that doesn't face the same thing as him in their life or even worse. Its one ***holes opinion thats all I'm saying.

And I agree with you. It's just one *******. But sometimes all it takes is one. And it definitely spread outside of Laron because Reese Fleming was tweeting about it. Reese basically knows every kid in this recruiting class. So even though it was one ****** Iowa fan, the possibility of his attitude spreading like a virus to other recruits is a very real possibility.
