They're Coming for Deuce Hogan

That guy is a fucking stud, and he will get Iowa there. He is a very confident young man.

From a personality standpoint, he seems like he could have the type of impact Gustafson had on women's basketball, or Spencer Lee has had on wrestling. Just from the sheer numbers involved in football, it is harder to influence all those around you, but he seems pretty charismatic.

He's a talent for sure. But Spencer Petras will be in his 3rd spring. That gives him more than a leg up. Alex Padilla will be in his 2nd, I think.

My worry with Hogan is that he seems to really like attention and social media. How is he going to react when KF takes his phone and shuts him down? Will he be able to take a back seat and earn his playing time or will he want the limelight on day 1?

I think he likes to lead, and social media is the platform he has to do that right now. Once he gets on campus and he has a different platform, I think he will embrace that.

If you read the Athletic piece that Dochterman did on him and his family, I don't think we will need to worry about this guy from a distraction standpoint. In the article, Hogan states that a redshirt year is probably the best for him, and he expressed gratitude that Iowa encourages students to finish their senior year and not enroll early.

He seems to sincerely want to take Iowa to great places, not just showcase himself.

I think best-case-scenario, Petras kills it for 2 years and is an early entry. Hogan takes over as a RS-soph and things just keep rolling.

Stanley/Rudock/Vandy, all nice kids and team players. But the only way to get to the next level is with players that have swagger. When Stanzi said the things he did at the Orange Bowl, it didn't make him a bad Hawkeye, nor did Tate's tantrums or CJBs defiance against certain silly orders. The Miss Manners award competition is holding Iowa back. Guys like Matt Roth and Tate is how you beat a defending National Champion.

Swagger doesn't win anything. I don't like to call people out, we all have opinions. But to say we will win more if we recruit guys with swagger makes you sound like a middle schooler.
