These stats may suprise you

Actually they were +1 against Purdue.

Meaning, in 3 of their 4 losses they had no more turnovers than their opponent.

So turnovers aren't exactly a reasonable answer to "why'd they lose"...

Sure they are. It is not only how many turnovers but where you turn the ball over (i.e. Stanley pick at the goal line against PSU, two fumbles at end of game vs Northwestern, thems game killers!).

More stats - Iowa tied with NW for most overall wins in the West

Iowa 12th in the nation and 1st in the B1G in scoring defense

47 in the nation and 5th in conference in scoring offense

Of the 17 verbals ESPN ranks all of them either 3 or 4 stars with the lowest grade being 75. This includes a pair of 4 stars (both ESPN 300) along with an Army All American and a Blue/Grey All American. To put this in perspective this is the first time ever that ESPN hasn't graded some of our recruits as NR. Avg score of 77 making it the best class KF has recruited according to their measuring stick.

B12 - 4 teams with a winning conference record and 7 teams overall that are bowl eligible
B10 - 8 teams with a winning conference record and 9 teams that are bowl eligible

Iowa 4 consecutive wins against Nebraska & Iowa State & Minnesota
5 consecutive wins against Illinois

Florida State's bowl streak ends at 36
