These 'Apology' Threads

For being 7-0 there seems to be lots of accusations, finger pointing, and excuse making.......thank Gawd that is just fan on fan trolling.

Isn't that damn funny? Iowa is undefeated, ranked in the top 10 for the first time in years, and all we can do is pick on each other.

These ‘ you need to make an apology’ threads. If anonymous message board users feel the need to apologize, see your local confessional, call a friend or whatever. These posts that are popping up too often; just stop. They are not productive, they continue the infighting from this past off season, etc.

I’ve said my peace several times on where I was wrong (and where I wasn’t) from last year. I only feel a little remorse in not believing Kirk could make the changes he had to make, only because we’ve rarely seen entrenched coaches do that in the history of the sport. But my name is attached to it, I give opinions for a living…and frankly, I can take whatever anyone wants to sling at me on all this, because a lot of the things I said, they weren't based in anything other than what we were or weren't seeing...there are some things I would take back and have pretty much owned those...so I don't care if folks wanna run at me.

But on these boards, with folks bringing this stuff up to others each day, it serves no purpose and is just as divisive as the things they did not like....this anonymous message board cabal of ‘haters’ or ‘supporters’….look, everyone is happy. We don’t need this stuff to keep popping up. It’s been two months…I think people get the point. Picking at scabs is pointless. No more.

Well said.

Whether you're a "supporter", a "hater" or anything in-between, we all formed our opinions based on the information that was available at the time. During the offseason it basically boiled down to whether you were willing to accept the product being produced or you weren't. No one, and I do mean absolutely NO ONE saw this season coming. It may be an anomaly or it may be the beginning of a renaissance. Either way how about we all enjoy it and stop picking at scabs? Let's all stop trying to take credit for this season because we either supported the coaching staff during hard times or used our fiery passions to push them in the direction we wanted to go. Let's not use words like "apologize" or even "right" or "wrong". They really don't apply to this situation. Thinking that this season would turn out 5-7 was just as good of a guess as 8-4. Let's all get over it and play nice. We're all on the same team, after all...

So who's the second one now? Dean or ArvadaHawk are the only 2 new posters in this thread since your last post so I assume you mean one of them?

Over 5 years on HN. 7000 posts. Not buying the naivete.

is this about that WHAR guy?

Nobody should be apologizing for voicing their opinions in a msg board, I'm not going to. I've been underimpressed w/ KF for several years now and am shocked as all get out, that these program changes came w/ KF still at the helm. I'm blown away actually, for the same reasons Jon already mentioned. I would add though, that I'm hesitant to jump back in, head first, given his history of apparently, "losing touch" w/ coaching. Having said that, I'm inclined to remember Jo Pa's ups and downs over the millennia he coached at PSU. He was able to revitalize the program multiple times during his tenure. I just didn't believe our guy had this in him. I'm happy to hope for our man, KF, to be likened to Jo Pa in these regards.

keep it up hawks
