There are still a lot of PGs out there...

yes, please put some names out there other than Glover, Carter, and Stokes that Iowa appears to be in on

Don't fret.

To bad they are all leftovers of the leftovers and the schools we compete against are landing legit talented guards. I'm not worried that we won't sign someone, we will. I'm worried that the player will be average to poor in the Big 10 and won't help us get any better. If we keep striking out on talent than we are forever going to be in the dweller of the Big 10

I'm still available and have 4 years of eligibility left. Probably doesn't help that I'm too old, overweight, out of shape, and handle the rock like, well, a rock these days. But I am still available. Might be hard to convince the fam to move there with me, but a few "Auburn Handshakes" might make it easier to convince them.

Can you shoot FTs better than Archie?

Yeah, maybe if we're reeeaaally nice we can convince John Lickliter to come back for another season.

yeah there are alot out there, none thou that will be able to really help turn iowa around...fran struck out on all those kids.

Anthony Hickey but he has narrowed his list to South Carolina, LSU, Dayton and Butler.

A lot of these kids that Iowa is recruiting have very similar schools listed in their final schools - some have Iowa, others don't. It would not surprise me to see some of the kids wait and see who signs where and then pick what they think is the best option for themselves. Iowa, just like all of the other schools generally listed, have PT available early on.

Very few, if any, 4 or 5 star kids remain unsigned.

The whole Wes Washpun thing is really confusing because TN is bringing in a 4 star kid named Chris Jones who was rumored to be asking out of his LOI. Its not going to happen and WW should have known that.

How about Derell Longstreet out of Wisconsin?

Did some of you really think top talent was coming to IC this year? I love the Hawks as much as anyone, but our program is climbing out of dark times. There is no appeal for a kid to come here right now.

Looks like we got in on White before he blew up...hopefully we can get a Basabe-esque PG who is flying under the radar but can play in the B1G.

Baby steps my friends.

How well does Iowa recruit Texas? ISU just let Anthony Odunsi out of his LOI, and he cited lack of playing prospects. He is not the purest PG, but he plays the 1 for Travis, is 6-3 with a college ready body, and committed early enough that he only had offers from Vandy and ISU. Seems to be a kid who is smart, and definitely good size. This is just a name out of a hat though.

You mean like Bryce Cartwright, who committed in June of last year and didn't even make it to campus until about two weeks before school started?

We just watched 64 teams with pretty good Point Guards... don't have time to look it up but I'm guessing a great many of them were not 4 or 5 star recruits. Many of them probably flew "under the radar", and I think Fran has proven he can spot that kind of talent. Those are the kids we need at this point.

Maybe someday the top rated kids will come to Iowa, but we're just not there yet. The fact that Fran and his staff got their foot in the door had interest from some of them gives me a great deal of optimism.

As with football, I kind of like having kids that weren't necessarily the highest rated recruits like some of the teams we play. It makes it that much sweeter when we beat them!

Bryce helped us win 11 games. If you want to stay at that level fine, keep recruiting guys like Bryce. I want to win 20 games and go to the NCAA tournament. Signing guys this late in the process is a recipe for disaster IF it keeps up past this season. I'm still hopeful.

Matt Glover and Eli Carter are still in play.

Glover is now leaning Nebraska but is in no rush to sign with anyone. Expect Carter to hold out for another few weeks too.

Wow, are you really this dumb? You are basically saying we won 11 games in spite of Bryce Cartwright. We won 11 games because of him, without him we would have won 6,7, 8 maybe? Get a clue. He isn't the issue. We would be very fortunate to get another PG of his caliber at this point.
