The trick play vs Minnesota was a thing of beauty and worth another look!!

So now Fleck is stating Minnesota "knew the play when they saw it" but just couldn't quite close down the edge.

Uh huh.

They had 6 guys lined up over 4 Hawkeyes on the left, I just don't get why they didn't take a timeout here. Maybe they actually thought we were going to shift guys over like a swinging gate.

It was a brilliant call. Remember how some staff members visited Belichick over the summer? Maybe that is one of the plays they worked on. Also, the backside linebacker could track Hockensen down if he is fast enough and diagnoses it quickly enough. Maybe that is why they didn't run it in the first quarter against Wisconsin.

I think it was brilliant to use it vs Minny. Now every team we face will have to prepare for it and every time we line up for a field goal, it will be in the back of their minds.

Well, they won't use that one again, I'm for sure. But, the play they used last year against OSU and this play will definitely be in the back of their heads, they just won't know what Iowa has up their sleeve next.

Unfortunately they won't be able to run the fake punt for a while either. Hopefully, the next time they do...Rasteller tells the rest of the team.
