The Spread

The easiest money of the weekend has to be USC -13 over the gophers. I even got it at -105. People are actually putting more money on Gophers +13?

I also like K state -4 over ISU, but that's more because I saw how bad ISU is first hand last saturday

USC has not looked good this year. They were outplayed at home by a Virginia team that was not good last year. I know Minnesota just lost at home to an FCS team, but everyone thought Georgia Tech was easy money against Kansas last week and looked what happened.

I never bet on Iowa games, but it looks very tempting this week. Although if we should lose, then it would hurt even more.

If I wasn't an Iowa fan, the Iowa game would be a lock. But if I bet on the Hawks it would be a disastrous day...

I've been 2-0 so far betting on the Iowa games. Yes that means I bet against Iowa in game 1 but when does a KF team win by 40 unless its in the metrodome.

That being said I wont be betting this week. This Arizona game has scared me for awhile.

I made this mistake last time we were in Arizona. I flew out to Vegas for a couple days and put some decent cash down on Iowa. Then drove to Tempe to watch my money go bubye.

Isn't it a bad day already if the Hawks lose? With the spread hovering around 2 points, it is basically a pick em game. If you think the Hawks will win, throw some money down. Couldn't ask for a better line. Iowa has won 13 of its last 15 games (two of which Stanzi really didn't play). This isn't your same old Iowa team here. This is a well oiled machine with a very stout D. Iowa will win this game.

As for the USC game, did Vegas not watch USC hang half a hundred at Hawaii? USC has an offense loaded with talent and they look good. Their D might be suspect but we are talking about a Minnesota team that just lost to South Dakota. USC will blow the doors off the Gophers in this one. I'd take USC on that line too.

Supposedly Friday morning on "The Herd," Colin Cowherd will be announcing his college football can't miss bet of the week (guy lived in Vegas and is a big sports betting fan). My guess is that it is either the Iowa game or the USC game.

Maybe Vegas also watch Hawaii put up like 600 yards on USC or maybe they saw USC's loaded offense thow up 17 points at home against a Virginia team that went 3-9 last year.

me betting actual money on Iowa is bad luck

however, I always pick Iowa in those pick 'em things, even if I know they are going to lose ... if it is a confidence thing, I always give them the lowest confidence, because anything higher is paramount to betting actual money ;)

A 2 point spread essentially means Vegas wants nothing to do with this game. I would be inclined to agree if it was my money.

What does this mean? I have toyed with the idea of betting on football this year, and I think USC covers this one easy too. But what do you usually bet for football? Individual games? Parlays? I dabbled in a bit of NBA stuff last year and did pretty good. Some NCAA Tourney games too. But I have never bet on football and am still learning the ropes a bit and learning all the terminology.

Any advice and/or help would be appreciated! :D

Considering the game is an Iowa start time of 9:30 and played away It's really more like Iowa by a touchdown. I'd take the spread.
