The Rudock era HAS to start next season.

The funny thing is, half of these idiots calling for JVBs head were probably the same ones calling for JVB to start over Stanzi, lol!

+1. It never ends JH. In two years, they'll be calling for Rudock to get benched in favor of the freshman quarterback when Rudock has one bad game.

Some QB's have it, some don't.James just doesn't. Thanks for your effort this season James, but this program needs to go with Rudock starting next season, game #1.

and how well did it factor stanzi do last year. i like ricky but he had a better receiving corp, ol, and defense and i believe he did about the same as jvb this year. but shows how much you understand about football.

Understand about football? Dude, no one can understand any of what you just wrote there.

I was there. Lots of open receivers. Bad decisions, throwing to the wrong man. Many bad passes when guys are open. Disappointing. No fire on this team.

Does anyone actually think that a backup QB will have any chance whatsoever next year.

Vandenberg is Iowa's QB until he leaves the program or until he gets hurt. Plus, any backup QB (or other underclassmen) NEVER gets any reps for any amount of time simply because of the style of ball Iowa plays...keep the score close, play ultra conservative, and play not to lose.

Ferentz's loyalties to upperclassmen and coaches go way beyond what's good for the Iiowa program.

What ever happened to his mom? She is a lot better to look at then the play calling and execution by these players.

Yeah, Ferentz's refusal to play a freshman who has never taken a snap over a senior clearly shows he does not want what is best for the team.

Vandenberg is simply atrocious on the road. He acts like he has never played the game of football when he plays an away game.

Well, so do the coaches and that might be a small part of it huh? The coaches don't have a clue either.

Makes a nice package...The QB can't play on the road and the coaches are afraid to play on the road.

Would it matter if the coaches stayed home one Saturday when we have a road game...I don't think so. The team would still play the same uninspired football that we are used to watching. The QB could call the game as well as O'Keefe. All the QB would need is O'Keefe's seven plays. If Ferentz stayed home, no one would even know he is missing...

It amazes me how clueless some fans are, the play calling on this team is horrid at best, they go away from what is working and try to get cute, put players in positions that are hard for them to succeed and then people think that putting in Rudock will magically make all of these things go away and he will be the savior. Get a clue people, until KOK goes away and KF starts putting his foot on peoples throats instead of ***** footing around none of this will change. You have to be the aggressor, if you stand back on your heals, like this coaching staff likes to do, it will get you beat by the likes of Minnesota, the Clowns etc let alone by good teams that they play

You can make stats mean whatever you want to...

The bottom line is Vandenberg is a very bad QB on the road...He is very good at home...unfortunately, he doesn't get to play all his games at home.

Not only that, but after Rudock follows a poor game up with a great one, those same people will be singing his praises.

There should be a special club for those posters called "The Prisoners of the Moment Group". Maybe they can even have meetings every Tuesday night during the season.

in a no huddle shotgun he is quite good less thinking and better reaction; under center he lacks the field awareness needed to take this team forward
he will be a senior and hopefully takes the extra practice a bowl game allows him to improve
outside of McNutt most of the skill players return
Coker showed he can catch the ball and will again start at RB
Davis will replace McNutt
Rodger should be 100% and adds a run catch option out of the BF
CJ is coming on strong and will be the next great TE
KMM will be a strong 2nd receiver, who steps up to be the 3rd is anybody guess
the 2nd TE will be Derby with Hamilton pushing for playing time
the O-line will have Ferenzt as the center
Reiff is supposedly returning
MacMillan, Von Sloten and Sherff will man the other spots on the line
the offense will be solid but the problem remains will this staff put them in a position to win, or go back to running the ball into a 8 man wall then wait til it is 3rd and to long to matter, then game plan to throw the ball 7-8 yards short of the down markers and expect them run the last 5-7 yards for the 1st when other teams are playing tight man to man coverage

this staff has to move into the 21st century both on defense and offense
