The first look was to be to Czinano on the block to get a shot and/or possible foul. But they went with the second option which turned out OK. How Ohio state doesn't get a velcro defender on Clark is odd, but maybe Caitlin is that good of creating just enough space. I noticed during the game how fast she gets a shot off. Very hard to defend.
With it being the day after and after having seen the replay 1000 times. Here's something I thought. If I was an Indiana fan I'd be firing that coach before she got on the plane. That defense they did was ridiculous. They should have face guarded and double teamed Clark and made literally anyone else try to beat them. That's a no 3s situation and a do not let Clark get the ball at all situation.
Clark eluded to it in interview that she thought ball would go to Warnock who was cutting to the hoop. They figured her defender would come double onto Clark leaving her open. Even giving up a 2 there just puts the game into OT so Indiana shoulda been more willing to give that up if anything.
So I don't know anything about Indianas coach but whatever they were trying to do there at the end was coaching malpractice as far as I'm concerned. All that said I'm ecstatic things went the way they did
