The PR of this hiring is what is most potentially disappointing to me

Unless Parker was the fall back hire and things fell through with other candidates.

If Ferentz knew that Parker was his guy all long and waited 2 months to make it official, I think that would be very disappointing. Would Ferentz really do that? What would be the advantage to doing this?

I'm not a fan of the hire, but I hope Parker can be successful in the position.

Who cares how long it took and why. It's done. Fans should get behind Phil and wish him the best and quit ******* and moaning

What are the disadvantages of waiting? We lost ZERO recruits because of this

How come no one will realize that Kirk may have been interviewing candidates the past 60 days, took his time and ultimately decided on Parker?

Instantly everyone just assumes KF waited to annoy people rather than the more likely scenario that he was taking his time to make sure he made the right choice.

So once again, give me one reason that waiting to make the hire impacted the program negatively?

Thanks

Bus, do you ever get the feeling that we're the only people here without our heads up our ***** all the time?

Totally 100 percent agree with this. I don't think pi$$ing off HN posters was high on KF's list. Jesus people.

I find it hard to believe the Parker was the best hire of the bunch on paper. However, he might have been the best fit for Ferentz for what he is use to.

You dont even know who was interviewed and who the candidates were

Also, if you could answer my question on why waiting was a bad thing I would appreciate it

To be fair, a good 60% of the posts are people theorizing about how other people are going to meltdown and what the temperature of said meltdown is going to be. It's getting to the point that that word should be starred out just like any profanity.

Ferentz wasn't about to hire anyone outside the program. His loyalty and friendship over rides the Iowa program. Parker had the job the instant Norm retired...done deal. Ferentz had to go through the motions on this one...throw out a few names to make it look legit. Friendship over rides everything with Ferentz...everything. Why would any fan be upset? This is Ferentz's forte, always has, always will...Too risky to do anything else...

True, it might have been Parker's job all along and no one else was interviewed.

Why is it bad for waiting......upset your fan base even more with a letdown hire. That is why. Another PR knock to the program. Wait 2 months when you know all along......if that is the case.

If Parker truly was the best for the job out of all who applied, well then kudos to Kirk for doing a thoughtful job.

I doubt this is the case though. On speculation, my guess would be Parker was the fall back guy because something did not work out with another applicant or Parker was the choice all along.

Yes, and he had nothing better to do than stage an elaborate scheme in order to throw message board fans off the scent. Good thing NMH had the brain power to see through Kurt's ploy.
