The Only Way This Mess Can End Well.

We can disagree. Almost any other behavior than what he was accused of pertaining to the lawsuit. That will be the focus. We are mostly from Iowa and to be frank (without violating forum rules I hope) don't really have an understanding of changes in our society, particularly with those that are not a lot younger than you on down. Urban found out in a hurry. Iowa is one of the few states that are really almost completely inoculated from what reality is around the nation on the subject.

I do believe we will find out. Maybe you are right looking at the rosters for the World Series, but I really don't think so.

I think we both agree he should be gone. Not sure we agree about KF himself.

Sometimes I have a difficult following what you write. I really couldn't follow what you are trying to say.

My thought is I really think the lawsuit is not going to really go anywhere. I don't think there will be much of any real repercussions after it. From what I have read it sounds pretty bogus from a bunch of butt hurt ex players and family that didn't end up getting the $$$$$$ from the league.

Now from your statement about Iowa being inoculated from the rest of society, doesn't this help BF's chances of getting a gig later? Isn't that going against your view of Iowa in society and not really having a clue of what it is like everywhere else.

You have an odd way of thinking at times, IMO.

Some of my "confusion" is that I am terrible at using my phone.

To clarify, what Iowans think doesn't really match with the rest of the country. Fry will toss this if I say to much. Iowa is at the bottom of the rankings on diversity. I see the same attitudes in rural IL which is very much like rural Iowa.

To try and be succinct. Iowans in general would not be quick to recognize that BF isn't getting hired by the NFL for his transgressions. Nor would they be quick to realize that there are diversity issues in this country and those stereotype cliches are actually hurtful to others, not typical Iowans.

For example, it shows in your comment about the lawsuit. Iowans continually see KF act the same as always. Nothing really changes. His son has a job from nepotism and KF keeps his reign by being like a despot. Iowans are butt hurt because we aren't winning and now we are being ridiculed nationally. KF's despotism is as long as we were still winning (against a weak division most and not playing M or OSU) but not OK when the winning stops. Not winning and the ultimate demise of the program is a natural progression of the situation of the culture in a changing world. Win and Iowa fans don't give a damn about abuse of reporters, players, coaches and so forth. Lose embarrassingly, that matters. And BF isn't getting hired in the NFL.

You understood exactly what I was saying...mostly. You don't like looking in the mirror.

Unless there's some major damning things in the lawsuit BF could get an assistant job in the pros. His piss poor job performance alone won't disqualify him from a position coach type job. That's what having connections is all about and does for them. By no means could he get a coordinator gig in the pros or D1 now but he wouldn't be outright unemployed. He'll never make less then 6 figures again till he's old if he doesn't want to.

Maybe. Whether there is something in the lawsuit provable in light of current laws... remains to be seen. If it's dropped, settled, found not liable, or charges dropped doesn't mean any issues.

I am pretty sure Brian doesn't have to worry about money ever again. Dad has pretty much proven that by his actions.

I live in the Iowa City area which is one of the most diverse areas in Iowa. The Ferentz's live in the same are. Our public schools are about as diverse as they come. I don't think you can just conveniently group the rest of rural Iowa in this.

What am I looking in the mirror for? Because my opinion doesn't match up with yours? Maybe Iowan's get it much better than others in our nation.

I get what you are saying, but IC is a poor example as there aren't many certain minorities not associated with the university. But as you say, it is one of the more diverse areas of Iowa. I see comments on here about Champaign, which is not a good comparison. Champaign Urbana is a bigger area (not counting CR), with a minority population not associated with the university. Yet the negative comments are out there for one reason (associated crime). CU actually shows better than IC except for the landscape. Most minority Iowa players don't come from IC type worlds.

The mirror is about now being upset with KF. He hasn't changed. For you it's about winning. His despot characteristics have always been apparent. But, there is no care as your world of Hawk football was still winning. Now it is not. You come across that you really do believe there was no problem associated with the lawsuit. Yet it was there. You don't seem to care that players, media and others who may disagree with him were mistreated as long as Iowa was winning enough.

KF isn't walking this one back. More will come out. He can keep the lid on no more.

For the record, there are MANY in Iowa City not associated with the university at all. My wife works for the school district and it is very diverse with most mot being affiliated with the U whatsoever.

i don’t expect any changes. I’m serious. Kirk is operating on an entirely different set of assumptions

1. he doesn’t care what we think, he knows what he knows

2. He’s satisfied with his system

3. he believes in Brian
