The oddest infield RBI single you will ever see

Props to the Umpire for sticking with it. I umpire for 12-14 year olds and any time the ball goes foul like that I immediately call FOUL thinking it's impossible for the ball to come back into play, I guess this video proves me wrong.

That is why you umpire for 12-14 year olds.

this is why fielders are taught to pick up or touch the ball as soon as it is foul. dont let it roll.

2nd oddest. When I was in little league a pitch was thrown behind me and I didn't move. The ball bounced off my bat in between the pitcher and the second baseman for an RBI single.

To be fair, at that age group, it's probably next to impossible to make this happen. They would struggle to get anywhere near enough spin on the ball, and the field probably wouldn't allow for a play like this. MLB grass is like carpet, and the ball can move quite a bit. Little League fields in Iowa, not so much.

But, this is why you should wait for either a defender (or the runner) to touch the ball in foul territory, or for the ball to stop rolling.
