The Most Hilarious Husker Article I’ve Ever Read

I’ve never read a more full of shit (other than the losing part) pretentious article in my life. The fact that it comes from a husker douche makes it sooooooo much more gratifying, though.

This guy is absolutely delusional. This right here, folks, isn’t a guy who’s mad about falling from grace like he wants you to believe, it’s a guy who still thinks his team is something great. He’s masking his frustration by trying to make you think there’s been something great there at some point in the last quarter century and that the last few years is just the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Listen up Chatelain, your shit team is a steamy pile of garbage that’s finally paying the piper for being a rape, assault, and dope dealer enabling cheater for the past 50 years, and I love it. You can take your scumbaggy “Mr. Davis” and go F yourself. I hope you live a long life watching many more 3-9 seasons.

Thought it was pretty interesting but long.

Seemed like a step in the right direction to confront shame.

What a piece of shit. Nebraska football a religion? Like Jim Jones? I ain't drinkin that Kool-aid and neither should we or the rest of the B1G. They need to be beat down every Saturday. Kudos to Indiana for a wonderful display of a beat down. Kudos to Chatelain for displaying an eagerness to point out how delusional he and the whole Husker mentality really is. You are not a big deal anymore, so get over yourself.

I loved it, a Husker fan finally accepting who they are.

This paragraph gave me a chuckle:

"No major college football program ever sustained greatness for as long as Nebraska did (44 more wins than any other school from 1962-2001!) only to relinquish it entirely for this long. None. Never."

Gotta feel good about something I guess.

Why did he pick those years? Seems rather specific years, if he wasn't trying to cherry pick and pump up the program.
What they need to understand and I mean fully comprehend is their "greatness" was voted on by the media. Nothing else. It doesn't work like that anymore. They also need to understand that they didn't play anyone. Look Maryland smoked Texas just recently. When you have 1 or maybe 2 difficult games a year.... well it's pretty easy to have a winning record.
Everything this guy talks about is nothing more than a paper tiger.
That's what they need to comprehend.
Welcome to reality.

Even when they were at their best it was because Tom Doucheborne hired pieces of shit for football players and kept playing them no matter what. If hiding guns and letting Larry Phillips play was the stuff we actually heard about, what kind of things do you think were actually kept secret?

First of all it's been proven that long time losers can become long time winners. It's been done, I don't know, right on the corner of Melrose and Hawkins. It's been done in places from Manhattan, Kansas to Madison, Wisconsin.

Second, Nebby Nation is now to the point where they think history should protect them, even owe them something.

Thank God I ate breakfast two and a half ours ago. This sums up the arrogance and entitlement mentality of Grasshopper Gulch as well as anything else can. When you hear their AD spew hot garbage about Iowa's program and how OSU and Michigan should be running scared, when you hear Frost publicly declare Purdue a winnable game, when you hear him moan and groan about Indiana not being on their schedule often enough, you can see now exactly where it originates from.

We can holler all we want. Easy schedule in the past or not, the were pretty darn good.

In reality you can say the same thing about the Big being a 2 team league which started to change in the 80s with Iowa and IL coming to the big boy game. But neither of them have held Big Boy status for very long.

Michigan may or may not continue as Big Boy. A Big Boy can be down and pop up.

My guess is the team that really took advantage of scheduling was always PSU.

I'm guessing there are only so many top recruits and they used to go mostly to M and a OSU with lesser to PSU.

PSU has gained maybe at Michigan expense. OSU likely gained on Michigan as well.

IDK, but if my team was that great for 40 years I'd have a hard time accepting it too.

They were only great on the surface, which I suppose can suffice, considering that LaVar Ball only has to be great in his own mind and he generates headlines. But read some of the posts in this and countless other threads about WHY they were good and you will find they may be the biggest paper tiger in the history of NCAA sports.

Look, the ridiculous notion of "Father Tom" boils my blood. Just because the guy was soft spoken and talked about God a lot, did not make him a saint. I will never get over Lawrence Phillips. Never. That was the most blatantly wrong thing I have ever seen a coach do outside of Penn State. But, beyond that, the illegal steroid use and other cheats that were happening in the 80s and 90s is legendary.

Nebraska has always been about winning no matter what and justifying the methods later. Now that the dirty methods are not leading to championships, the fan base is lost in the desert. Its called Karma.

The rest of the country finally realized it is Nebraska. It is not a tourist destination. No one goes there to be there and no one really wants to stay there.

I like "Going on 20 years without a top 10 finish." Wow!

I’d respect greatness if it hadn’t come from the scumminess of Osbourne. He was the dirtiest coach in the history of P5 in my opinion, all while trying to come across as a patron saint.

Then when you add in the Uncle Rico fans who still carry arrogance that hasn’t been valid in 25 years, it overflows the manure wagon.

Ahhh they did win these things called National Championships. Pretty hard to argue they weren't good.

Paterno was a good football coach. Still a piece of shit.

Selling your soul negates any results of said soul selling.
