Seriously it's pretty hilarious that this topic has 100 comments already. Honest question - why in the world are Hawkeye fans sticking their chests out about their conference rivals' accomplishments? The Big Ten had 3-4 great teams this year - congrats! Iowa had nothing to do with that - ZERO! Reminds me of a cocky highschool kid who rides the pine but can't stop boasting about the teams star player who signed a D-1 scholarship. Nothing quite like celebrating mediocrity and searching for something to puff your chest out. Geez people! Ridiculous!
This thread is about the B12 sucking, not the B10. Please stay on topic.
Pretty obvious. They didn't have a game of their own to worry about tonight. Oh wait, they did?

Dood, the b10 is far superior to the b12 and that's the reason that Iowa didn't make the tourney. Having to play teams like Indiana, Michigan St, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio St....ya know, teams that won in the tourney, it's hard. You had to play Kansas. And lost every time. God damn it what I would give to play in the b12 and be able to beat those patsies to make the tourney. Amazing.

Pretty good man. Proving they belong. If it weren't fer that beast of a conference, they'd most likely be a 10 seed rolling over so no-name program and trotting our way to the sweet 16.
Iowa State football fan: man it would be great to play in the big 10, the record would be so much better could you imagine the bowl we could get to?

Yup, that's what Nebraska thought about joining the BIG, too. Huskers are just another team..Hell, Northwestern beat'em in Lincoln.
Iowa struggles some years, its' true. 4 top 10 finishes in the last 11 years. 3 Rose bowls and 2 Orange Bowls since 1981. Don't even dream of comparing football programs. You are normally more intelligent than that.
ISU has done nothing and will do nothing in football, ever. 6-6 is a great year in Ames. Win a game here and there against Iowa, sneak in a crappy bowl game at 6-6 and all the Cyclone fans are giddy and satisfied.
It's my name, but I guess if you want to make that connection, I suppose there is one.
Here's what makes that argument so dumb. We had basically the same record and we beat you head to head. This isn't like football where we have 25% more wins.

Iowa has played 6 bowl games against the BIG12/Big 8. They were not played against the crap teams either. Texas twice, Texas Tech twice, Oklahoma and Missouri.
Iowa is 4-2. Hardly seems like they were over matched, does it?
Iowa is 14-11-1 in Bowl games. Almost all of them against Big 12/8, SEC, Pac 8/10. Iowa doesn't get bowl games against Tulsa, Miami of Ohio, etc. In fact, the list of bowl games Iowa has played is like "who's who" of college football. Texas, LSU, Florida, Tenn. G. Tech., UCLA, Wash., Mo., Oklahoma, Tex. Tech., etc.
Big 10 and Big 12 matched up for years in the Alamo bowl. (only example I have as it was their only bowl tie in with each other. Big 10 was 6-5 against the Big 12. A good share of those games were played against a Texas team, in Texas. (home game for Big 12)
