I'm nervous about not getting laid Friday night. I didn't get laid the night before the Arizona game and they lost. I've tried telling my gf the loss was her fault but she's not buyin it... guess I'm gonna have to have a discussion with her boss about making her work Friday nights during football season.

She's "working late" friday nights and you aren't getting laid? Does she take a shower right when she gets home? ;):D:)

From a betting point of view, we only have to give -3.5, this is one of the easiest wagers this week.

If you remember when Nebraska sucked, they were easy to bet against because of the big fan base that bet with their hearts and not their heads which kept the spreads low, hence they rarely covered.

Haha nicely done... maybe I really do need to have a chat with her boss!

The big fan base... and suckers betting on historic reputation over current quality. Which is also a factor with Michigan, USC and Texas lines.

I am going to buy the hook to 3 (-120) because I always buy the hook after several bad, bad beats due to it. However, absent complete implosion by the Hawks to the tune of more than 2 turn overs or special teams mishaps, Iowa should win this game handily. Scoring points should not be too much of a problem and Iowa should be able to slow down DR enough to win by 2TDs or more. Prediction 38-24 Iowa.

since when does iowa consistently beat anyone by more than 3 points, I think the line is spot on....being favored at Michigan is rare...really it's a seven point correction on the MSU spread, who i think we are pretty even with

They don't, well except for ISU.

The betting line has nothing to do with who will win the game. It's designed to approximate equal betting on both sides. FYI, when the early line came out last week before the MSU game, we were 3 point underdogs. Also, the standard in a pick 'em game is to give the home team 3 points. Basically, last week we were picked to lose by 3 on the road, now we're picked to win by 3.5 on the road. I.E., if that game was in Iowa City we'd be at least 6.5 point favorites.
