to me our young but very capable O-line needs to draw a line in the sand over the next few weeks. If that group can learn from the az game and come together, it will go a long way in making 2010 a very successful year regardless of who or how many rb's are available.

I agree! The O-line looked like they couldn't hold hardly anything back when it really had to be done.

The OL is partial to blame, but when AZ sends 7 or 8 and you only have 5/6 to block with, it is hard to block. The OL still needs to improve but luckily what happened on saturday night can be gameplanned against so if the next team(Ball St., PSU, etc)thinks they can blitz lights out the staff can insert some screens, slants and other quick pass plays.

This. If your opponent is up 14 and is sending 8 or 9 guys into the box every down, you don't really have any hope of picking up the blitz. Numbers are hard things to work around and with 5 (or 6 if you count the TE) linemen and a FB/RB in the backfield, that still leaves us with at least one guy to pick up. And that's assuming we're in a situation where we run a passing play with no TE, RB, and FB routes. We learned a lot on Saturday and that film will be invaluable to the rest of our season. But I can't put all the blame on the OL, some of it has to do with the game plan. Short dumpoff passes to the TE or RB in the flat work best against an over-aggressive blitz based D.
