The genius that is BF as OC......

I agree that the only thing that really matters is scoring points and we did struggle to put up points vs those teams. I just also found it interesting that Iowa is near the top of the list in YPG vs top 25 teams. I mean I am told that Iowa's offense sucks vs top teams, but shocker of all shockers it seems everyone struggles to get yards vs good teams.
You are a freaking moron. They haven’t scored anything against anyone of significance this season

Iowa has played 3 top 25 teams out of 6 games. Iowa is 5-2 and ranked in the top 20. Listen @oldhawk12 I get it, this upsets you that Iowa is ranked, and the national media actually values the Hawkeyes. All I can say is you can go ahead and hope and pray that Iowa crashes and burns the rest of the way, so you can tell us you were right that the Hawks sucked balls. I'll keep rooting that this sucking ass team can keep winning games, even if that makes me a "freaking moron" like you say.

Once again this is yard per games of B1G teams who have played more than 1 top 25 opponent.

Every time you put up some meaningful stats,

Oh, absolutely. Without a doubt.

There is no more "meaningful" stat in football than "yards that don't lead to points".

Think about this, though:

I think most would agree the Hawks' defense played very well in those games.

Why? Because they didn't give up many points.

But apparently we're all idiots for crediting the defense, because they gave up more yards than the Hawks' mighty offense got in 2 of those 3 games.

Who is calling you an idiot for giving credit to the defense? I think you might be going crazy and hearing voices in your head on this one.

Dean. Just stop. Every time you put up some meaningful stats, someone from Team Caddy finds some unrelated stat as an argument that Iowa is no good. Next you will be telling us that the Hawks are in the top 15 for wins in the last (many) years. Oh, wait. Never mind.
Here is a stat for you . One BCS bowl win in 20 seasons . Soon to be 21 seasons . This is also during a time when it’s easier to get those wins then during the Hayden era

Was looking around at some stuff today, and I am wondering without looking it up if anyone could figure out what B1G teams go with the corresponding YPG stats. This is what B1G teams are averaging vs Top 25 teams, and I only used teams that have played more than one top 25 team.

310 YPG
328 YPG
289 YPG
257 YPG
279 YPG
265 YPG
227 YPG

So you think BF is doing an adequate job? Which teams are those? Why not include TDs?

You're a homer plain and simple. Our offense sucks, and has for quite some time. I suppose you think an 8-4 record is good too don't you? Beat 4 cupcakes, then go .500 in the weak ass west division of the conference. Wow, that's great isn't it. AVERAGE is what it is. What other school would hire an OC with absolutely ZERO experience who had an offensive line that was already trending downward under him? Then bring in an OC with proven experience, and move him to Oline coach. Does that make any sense in your world? Probably does to you.

Stanley sorely misses the red zone presence of Fant and Hocks.

So do the running backs, who get more red zone attention when defenses don't have to account for #87 and #38.

Somebody has to step up in this regard. You can't count on your kicker to make nearly 90% of his fg attempts all season. Someone is going to make us truly pay. If Purdue hadn't fumbled inside our 10 yard line (and that was 50/50 at best) we may have already had to.
Stanley doesn't see the field worth a shit if his first option isn't there. He had Sargent WIDE open for a td on Iowa's first drive Saturday and didn't even see him. Against PSU he had Goodson WIDE open for the 2 point conversion and instead through to Wieting who was covered and was intercepted.

Whatever you do, avoid the turnover, we'll take the FG opportunity. Play it safe. Run the ball, hold it with two arms, tight, don't risk a long gain by doing anything stupid. Put it on the back of our punter.

Not many surprises.

So...would you take back a few of our recent fumbles (Sargent vs. Michigan this, Sargent and IKM vs. NW last year, Goodson against PSU this year, et. al.) for more "sound" fundamental play? Or would you say, "Don't worry, ball security is secondary to aggressiveness!" and let fly with whatever happens?

I would say, figure out how to be a championship team by moving the ball and scoring, the defense is fighting alone.

You think Stanley has it rough you should hear the Chicago media coming down on Mitch Trubisky, Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace.

Not only did pace draft Mitch ahead of Mahomes and Deshaun Watson, he gave up draft picks to the Niners to trade up one spot. San Fran is looking like a conference championship contender, with help from those picks. Trubisky meanwhile has trouble going through his progressions and tends to lock on one receiver, and this was a guy who had less than a full season at North Carolina.

Meanwhile Green Bay is running away from the Bears and Minnesota seems to have righted their ship, in large part because of Kirk Cousins, a guy they practically picked up off the street.

Caddy this is the exact same post you've written for five years straight.

We get it. Come up with a more original narrative.

And Iowa State is no longer a cupcake.

Bears have been awful for years. Because of their poor management, so that narrative is bad.

Iowa State is historically weak. This season is a blip. Only to get their coach hired by a P5 club. Northsides narrative may be redundant, but it is consistent and reality.

Why do wins bother you so much? Or is it wins by Iowa that seem to upset you so?

Not at all. The more wins the better. Especially where it matters. in the conference. We are 11-11 during the Brian era. You realize that he will finish the season around .500 in the B1G and .500 for his career. He will most likely be far behind the success of Derp by the end of next season as Derp went undefeated in his 4th season.

You were bragging about our ypg against Top 25 teams. Yet we are 1-2 in those games. Your meaningless statistics are really bizarre. You are trying so hard. Why? Are you a member of the football program? The first family? Look you don't need to try and excuse Brian's shortcomings as an OC. Relax. He will get the job he truly covets. Deep down he knows he isn't a very good OC and Kirk probably does as well even though he wouldn't know one if it fell from the sky.

Just stop. Kirk's success has always been due to Parker and Parker. That hasn't changed. It might just be getting worse. 3 touchdowns in the last three games.
