The Curious January Depth Chart

1. I don't think Rudock will be around in 2015. He knew this chart was coming out, not pleased
2. I think Greg Davis will return. I think he wanted CJB at QB most of year, and Kirk vetoed
3. It's the college coaches convention this weekend
4. I think Kirk may make some announcements next Wednesday that some coaches are moving on
5. I think Kirk realizes this may be a make or break year...and perhaps 'Back against the Wall' Kirk could be quite interesting
6. I really doubt Kirk makes the QB roster move without 'some' pressure from 'somewhere' as an early Jan two deep like this may be unprecedented for him
8. The linebackers are all at different positions
 
I don't ever recall a January depth chart. It reeks of desperation because it's not set in stone and everyone with half a brain should know that. Come Sept, it will be back to the same players at the same positions. Playing musical depth charts in January is embarrassing.
 
Obviously releasing the depth chart at this point is an attempt to settle the fan base. I'm sure Barta knows season ticket sales are going to be lacking so announcing Beathard is the starter now may help encourage people on the fence about purchasing tickets to go ahead and do so. As for myself? I'm still canceling.
 
If an B1G defensive coordinators are having any trouble sleeping these days all they need to do is take a look at the WR/TE/RBs on that depth chart. One look and they'll be resting very easily.
 
And the offensive coordinators have to be licking their chops when they see our 2 deep for defense. Absolute lack of talent on both sides of the ball. WR is so bad it's almost comical. Exactly who does CJ have to throw the ball to outside of Smith? Linebacker? Wow. Keep up the great recruiting Kirk.
 
Just another tactic that shows how far outta touch Kirk is with us the fans. Is this supposed to calm the storm that is a horrible coaching job for the third time in four years? It's as desperate of an effort as him sending police escorts for the qb's after the slaying bowl. This means nothing whatsoever to anyone, show me CJ starting the first five games and finishing them and you may have peaked my interest but this is a desperate cry for help to a fan base that wants no part in helping someone that has continually thumbed his nose at said fa base. Coulda, shoulda, woulda Kirk. You made your own bed. Now go lie in that pile of crap of a bed you made..
 
So I googled Andrew Stone. He is a walk on from a CC. I thought we had recruited the WR position heavily and that was going to negatively affect our OL. Boy, if this is heavily recruiting, the writing on the wall is in bright neon.

It's an empty promise. Its pathetic and I can promise you Kirk and Gary brainstormed this ridiculous plan after multiple hours. They really think this is gonna make the problem go away? Shallow thinking from the highest paid state employee. Weak...
 
And the size of our O Line. Seems small by B1G standards. That doesnt sound very good either.
I guess CJB has better scrambling skills. He will need them.
KF is doing JR a service. Making sure his hands dont get beat up.
 
Kirk can kiss his legacy nighty, night. Had he got out after 2012, like he should have, then it could have been salvaged. Another 7-5/6-6 season next year and a depth chart released a week after the dumpster fire of 2014 - which is unprecedented - only leaves the question of his sanity to debate. His legacy is no longer up for discussion.

Why is a FR walk on from Charles City our starting LT?

Agree on the O-line ....... 2 guys over 300 lbs and one guy over 6'5". Render is listed as a back up RT when I thought he would be at center. Holy smokes!!!
 
Is this to prevent the double QB transfer? Also, how can KF not be blamed for playing the wrong guy all of 2014 (with a few exceptions) now? He is pretty much admitting that Beathard was better and CJ didn't really get a lot of reps with the ones until the last month?
