The conditioning of out front four?

Alter the schemes in a week? Not going to happen. Tressel can just dust off the 2006 video of the Iowa-OSU game and change a few guys' numbers and show them exactly how they are going to beat Iowa. We're going to see a lot of 7+ minute drives by the Buckeyes. Sanzenbacher will probably move up draft boards based on the stat padding he will receive in this game after Tressel throws him into the slot for a few drives. Well, that's assuming our front 7 can stop the run. Anyone remember what they did to us up front last year?

I almost lost my mind watching Gonzalez torch us that night. Even as a 16-year old, I knew they were going to run the slant to Gonzo inside the 10. Sure enough, touchdown on the slant to Gonzo.

Is there any chance this coaching staff could possibly alter the scheme during the course of a game? Just asking, and that is all I was looking for!!!

Yesterday Norm and Co. actually sent more "exotic" blitzes than I've ever seen a Ferentz team send, not including sending Morris up the middle multiple times. I didn't notice as many guys (LB's) coming from the outside, but there was a time or 2 we sent CB's, including early on the last NW drive sending CB's from each side while running nickel...in which Persa promptly stepped up, broke contain, and scrambled downfield for about 20 yards. The Hawkeyes also played man more times than they normally do.

The thing I noticed is that it seems they rarely do anything besides play their normal vanilla base scheme, unless they absolutely have to - towards the end of the AZ they were sending more and more LB's, but it usually takes IA to be in dire situations.

All that being said, we stayed in the base quite a bit yesterday giving up the normal underneath stuff NW, IU and Purdue usually take from IA.

But Pryor sucks at throwing the short routes. I'm guessing we'll plenty of RB pounding out yards again.
