THE CJB HATE HAS GOTTEN TO BE TOO MUCH. I'm gonna have to ban some of you.

Kirk will not get rid of him, our only hope is that he retires. If he does, does that mean that Brian takes over as our OC?
Why does Brian's name keep coming up for OC? What has he done to merit the job.I think theirs better candidates out there that would love to come to Iowa.

CJB Just isn't a healthy QB and hasn't been from the start of this season. That's FACT and it's not his noggin, dude is a gamer and took plenty of shots last season as well. How many times last season did you see CJB cut it up field on a scramble to take a hit, way more than he should. So not buying it's in his head..

So CJ gets all credit for last year, not the coaches. But coaches get all blame this year, non on CJ?

It wasn't me who said it first but I heard it a lot when I coached. "When the team wins it's because of the players; when the team loses it's because of the coach" I do not believe this faulty statement; never have and never will.

I can't help but think at season's end we will learn of multiple nagging injuries including shoulder?? Just doesn't look comfortable or the same guy as last year.

I believe the coaches when they say Stanley beat out Weigers. But they seemingly have little or no confidence in Weigers and maybe they thought CJs body might not hold up and thought there was a pretty good chance the backup would play a more critical role?? Pure speculation of course.

Hindsight is 20/20 but I sure would have liked to have seen Stanley redshirt. It was hard to predict the season was going play out this way. Or was it?

I had them going 8-4.

CJB is a 'gamer', a winner. Unfortunately, has...
-no pass blocking
-crappy OC behind him
-receivers with almost no talent
-injured knee slowing him immensely (big part of his playmaking is through his feet)

No hate here. only love

Agree. He is a gamer. He has taken a pounding the past couple of years.

And quite possibly the worst pass blocking line in the KF era. (Is that even up for debate?)

And quite possibly the worst OC in all of college football. Maybe not all his fault though. Can't be easy with KFs genius football mind intervening.

Not a good marriage with GD and the Ferentz men. Never has been IMO. Adding a run game coordinator would be a slap in the face for most OCs and to me a no confidence vote from KF.

KF isn't going anywhere but that shouldn't keep GD from hitting the road.

Wait there might be a sticking point. Is GD due a full one years salary for next year, even if he is fired at the end of this year per KFs new contract?

If true, Barta is not gonna throw way that much coin when I am sure he is OK with 7 or 8 wins. The money keeps pouring in from the fat cats. See North end zone estimate.

Sounds like Charlie Strong might be available soon, maybe he can be our next OC. You know, keep that Texas pipeline to Iowa going:)

Look at the Illinois game today and then ask yourself: what did CJ do today that Stanley could not have done? it's the baseball "wins above replacement" argument.

That's the problem to me this season. CJ was a stud last year. He was fearless. he made accurate throws. He threw deep balls occasionally.

Today vs Illinois CJ was honestly a liability. He made some terrible throws... overthrows, throws behind receivers that got picked off, etc. I think some of it falls on the play calling and some of it falls on his weak receivers. But a lot of it also falls in CJ as well

JFC. The kid has garbage receivers and his line has been sketchy to say the least. I've never seen a group of receivers this pathetic. And GDGD is doing him no favors.

Iowa's got problems, but the Ceej ain't one of them.

Bahahahahahahahaha................That is all..................

I'm glad some of you are finally figuring out what I've been telling you for the last 2 years. CJ is not a 'great' QB! Like I've told you morons over and over, they went undefeated last year because...A. They stopped the run. B. They ran the ball well. C. They had a +17 turnover margin. Against the 'tough' opponents last year, CJ's numbers looked about like they have for the last 2 games. Fact. End of discussion. CJ and Davis need to go....the nice part is, we at least know one of them is leaving after this year.....................
