Now that is a blast from the past........I can't remember if he had one great 30 pt. game or he was really great during the non-conference before he got the boot. He came along when every 6'5 bald black dude that could jump and had a resemblance of a midrange game was compared to Jordan. Grades do him in? Off the court issues?

Don't athletes "knock up" girls all the time? I remember reading something about Mel Basabe having a child last season. Is there some reason Wegher's potency harmed his career? I always assumed he left for academic issues.
Tavian Banks - He did eventually live up to and exceed the hype his senior year but can you imagine what could have been if Fry let him play more instead of wait for Shaw to move on.

Good ol tavian banks. He detastled on my crew in sixth grade. Lasted two days. He either ran thru the rows and didn't pull any tastles or pulled the whole stock out of the ground. Fired him second day. I don't blame him though, god it was a terrible job.

Jermelle Lewis. The game in 2002 at Michigan was possibly the best display by an Iowa RB that I have ever seen. Then he got injured the next year and was forgotten

I recall him busting of a huge TD run against Sparty in 2004. A few drives later he busted a huge run after a catch and was injured. You could have heard a pin drop in Kinnick. One of AIRBHG's most devious ploys was enacted against that young man.

Jim Hartlieb. Finally was the guy in 92. Was playing very well his senior year, separated his shoulder diving on a fumble at Illinois, missed the last 5 games and Iowa season went in the tank.

Oh, Tarp is another good one - NFL quality talent, but we only got to see it in fits & starts cuz of all the darn injuries.

I still think Marcus Paschal was on his way prior to blowing out his knee in the 2004 Capitol One Bowl against LSU. After recovery he still had a decent career at Iowa and hung around the NFL for a few years, but was a step slower because of the injury.

He had quite a freshman season for the Hawkeyes in 2006 with 49 catches for 654 yards. He also averaged 10.2 yards on 14 punt-returns.
Then Douglas was arrested in August 2007 for unauthorized use of a credit card. He ended up pleading guilty to credit card fraud, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was placed on indefinite suspension from*the Iowa team after his arrest. Two months later, he was arrested in Iowa City for fifth-degree theft. On the credit card charge, he was sentenced to two years probation.
On Aug. 1, 2008, Douglas was arrested for armed robbery, motor vehicle fraud and carrying a concealed weapon. He allegedly witnessed or took part in a Detroit robbery where jewelry and $2,000 in cash were stolen from a man in a vehicle.*He was extradited to Iowa City from the Wayne County Jail after violating his probation, because he failed to send monthly reports, provide proof that he is enrolled in college or pay his fines, and served some time in the Johnson County Jail.
