The APC

Since I've never heard of them I'm sure they won't be disappointed when I don't tune in. If they lost the garbage fans from message boards that would only leave their mothers as listeners.
 
These radio dudes ought to thank us, as they probably steal most of their material they use on the show from the stuff they read on message boards.
 
This Hawkeye Nation messsage board is a lot of fun, frankly. Jon Miller and several other very knowledgeable people do a fabulous job covering Iowa football and basketball with a lot of hard analysis, data, game breakdowns, statistics, etc. That is the primary reason I read it.

Also, many of the posts are intelligent, interesting and quite funny. That is another reason to hang out on this board.

I get a little tired of the posters who do nothing but criticize the coaches, ask for a coaching change, wonder why we aren't winning national championships, etc. etc. But heck, they have a right to express their opinions.

Ferentz was responding to a legitimate question by Jon Miller about Willies. What Ferentz should have said is: "Derrick Willies is a fine young man who is working through some issues right now. I haven't had time to talk to him. If he contacts us, of course we will talk to him. Of course we want him back on the team, but there is a process that he will have to follow."

That is what he should have said. Instead, he responds with a snarky, smart-*** comment back to Miller. Ferentz has been at Iowa an awfully long time. He has a pretty thin skin and there is more than a hint of arrogance now that wasn't there even 5 years ago. He is lucky to coach at Iowa and is being paid a King's ransom to do so. I for one am happy with 7-5 or 8-4 seasons that include bowl trips, but Ferentz needs to show humility and compassion. Sometimes he doesn't do a very good job of that.

I believe he does this every year by allowing teams like Ball State, ISU, UNI, Central Michigan, [fill in the blank] to hang around in games they have no business hanging around in, and on occasion, he even lets them win. ;-)

Agreed. We've seen more and more of this kind of attitude from KFz. He often mentions the dangers of a team "believing their own press clippings"... well, he should look in the mirror on that one. He's acting more and more like he's beyond reproach and considering his performance since 2010... that's a pretty pathetic attitude.

I thought KF's response was fine. He basically let everyone know that DW had once again, jumped the gun by tweeting he was back, before even talking to KF....not cool. KF simply stated the truth...which does bother some folks who want PC answers. KF did not want to distract from the game at hand, which many of the same folks who do not like his answers will hammer him if he does not win.....so whats it going to be...try to beat Wisky or start a therapy session for DW? KF will handle it behind the scenes, and DW will be back on the team by bowl season or next spring...end of story.

Tuned in tonight after not listening to them in a long time. Didn't realize Todd was on the "there's no way Iowa could ever hire anyone better than KF" train. Too bad.
