That was the worst sports Injury I've ever seen

Just read that his surgery last night went extremely well and doctors are very happy with the results. Said he will be released tomorrow from the hospital. For as gruesome as it was I read that everything was a clean break and after a year with a redshirt should be back on the court for the 14-15 season. I'm assuming getting past the mental aspect is going to be harder for Ware than the physical aspect.

That's patently false. Dr. Duff said so.

Watching that play just broke my heart because I broke both tibula and fibula in half and leg was three inches shorter than another. and had a surgery to repair my leg with rods.I'm sorry for Kevin Ward. It just make me emotional.

About three years ago I had a mishap on our steps and injured my ankle. When I was in the emergency room, the doctor came into the room after looking at my xrays and he said, "I have good news and bad news. The good news is your ankle is broken. The bad news is your ankle is also badly sprained and the sprain will take much longer to heal than the break."

He was right. I had to do physical therapy for the sprain to try and rebuild the ligaments. I subsequently sprained my other ankle about a year ago and neither one of them are the same.

No, what's patently false is that when you break a bone it comes back stronger.

I agree, but I never said that. I said a break is preferable to tearing ligaments, and Ware will come back stronger - thanks to the modern rehab process focusing on his particular physiology.

weird how so many people think a break is worse than ligament damage. this couldn't be further from the truth.

is this a doctored photo?

looks doctored to me. wouldn't it be more bloody? not that i'm a trauma specialists, so who knows? but that's pretty gross, so it could be legit.

I don't think that's doctored. You couldn't really see any blood on TV either. But man, did you really need to post that??

I'll guarantee you that any combat medic has seen way, way, way worse than that. Same goes for ER docs and nurses.

And imagine what the first responders walked into at Sandy Hook. If you dare imagine such things.

You know, for living in such a violence saturated society, I'm kind of mildly surprised that people are so "shocked" by this injury. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that it occurred on live TV and not in some Tarantino film.

A fascinating case study in social psychology in any event.

I 2nd this...What exactly was the point of this post? Okay, we're all shocked. Congrats! I for 1 also think much less of you now. Again...Congrats!

Do people have any idea how ridiculous saying **** like this makes them look? His name is "meatman" and he's an anonymous poster on a message boards. Do you honestly think he gives a **** how highly some random ******* thinks of him?

Yeah, that could have something to do with it. It was real not fiction. I for one know the difference between reality and fiction and have not been dulled to the point that an injury of this nature or Meat's picture is something I enjoy watching while munching on popcorn.

Well he (meatman) did give me a hard time about saying dick in a post about another guy getting rapped in his dick during a game.....So some things he cares about. I probably let him down.
